Summary
Shadow of the Erdtree’s Scadutree is big. Giving the DLC its name, literally called “The shadow of the Erdtree”, the mammoth tree towers over The Land of Shadows, much like its golden counterpart, the Erdtree, does over The Lands Between.
However, while the Erdtree may look more foreboding, at least in its height, theScadutreeis actually slightly taller.

A Surprising Height Difference
Not content with discovering that Shadow of the Erdtree’s unnamed Dragon isthe biggest to have ever featured in a FromSoftware title,FromSoftlore expert Zullie the Witch hascalculated the heightof the Scadutree and compared it to the Erdtree.
The hulking, decrepit figure, housing the Scadutree Avatar, stands proudly in the northern regions ofElden Ring’sLand of Shadows, between Scaduview and Hinterland. As estimated by Zullie, the tree is 4,498 meters tall, making it roughly five-and-a-half times taller than the largest human-made structure on earth, theBurj Khalifa, but only half the size ofMount Everest.

Zullie The Witchworked out that if you include the Scadutree’s roots, which are submerged deep intoThe Land of Shadow’socean, the tree stands 6,049 meters from root to tip.
When looking only at the above-ground sections of both trees, the Scadutree is surprisingly around 46 meters taller than the Erdtree, which clocks in at roughly 4,452 meters.
Positioning both side-by-side, the Erdree looks significantly larger. Its shimmering base and golden branches give it an air of superiority; however, the Scadutree’s twiggy structure means it has an advantage. A handful of withered branches poke out above the Erdtree’s canopy, equating to the 46-meter difference Zullie calculated.
