Sonic Generations is being delisted onSteamahead ofSonic X Shadow Generationslaunch. This comes after Sega already removed it from theXboxstore, trying to make the original game harder to buy before the remaster’s release in October.
However, unlike the Xbox delisting, the Steam release of Sonic Generations will still be available in some capacity. You won’t be able to buy it separately, but the game will still be available in a bundle alongside other Sonic games.

You Won’t Be Able To Buy Sonic Generations Separately On Steam Next Month
This move is said to be in response to fan feedback, as Sega haspreviously come under fire for delisting older gameswhen their rereleases and remasters launch. Of course, this isn’t a perfect solution, as it means you’ll have to buy an entire collection of games just to nab Generations, but it at least preserves the original release.
As per anannouncementon the Steam page, Sonic Generations will be available in the Sonic the Hedgehog Legacy Bundle. This will be priced at $59.99, but as usual, the price comes down if you already own any of the games in the bundle. The games included in this will be:
This is at least a better handling of the situation than we saw in 2022 whenSega delisted classic Sonic games ahead of Sonic Origins' launch.
Right now, Sonic Generations features in the Sonic the Hedgehog: Ultimate Bundle. It’s unclear if the game will remain in this bundle after the delisting, or will be exclusive to the new Legacy collection.
In any case, Sonic X Shadow Generations will launch on July 19, 2025.
