Summary
PSP spin-offRatchet & Clank: Size Matters is coming to PlayStation Plus later this month. With its arrival, only one game in the series is missing from the service—Secret Agent Clank.
Based on the in-universe fictional TV series of the same name, Secret Agent Clank follows our robot friend as he tries to prove that Ratchet is innocent after being accused and even imprisoned for stealing the Eye of Infinity. It’s very similar to Jak & Daxter’s own PSP spin-off Daxter, which was just ported to PS Plus last month.

Secret Agent Clank (the game) is a"canon movie/episode"inside of the Ratchet & Clank series. You can visit the set in Up Your Arsenal and the game’s events are even referenced in Tools of Destruction as an upcoming episode.
With the speed at which PlayStation is now bringing its classics to modern platforms, it’s only a matter of time before Secret Agent Clank gets its dues. The only way of playing it on a home console natively right now is through the maligned PS2 port, and the same goes with Size Matters, so to finally get these games as they were on the PSP for modern hardware is a huge win, even if the games themselves aren’t all that popular.
Ratchet & Clank Trilogy And Deadlocked Next, Pretty Please?
Secret Agent Clank coming to PS Plus would mean that theentireseries is playable on one platform, sort of. The original trilogy and Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked (which is called R&C 4 in Japan) are only available via their PS3 HD ports which means that you have to stream them.
Unless you have an incredibly fast and stable internet connection, it’s not a reliable way to play these games. That means the only native R&C games on PS4 and PS5 are Size Matters, the short-lived 2016 reboot, and Rift Apart. But we’ve already seen PlayStation address this problem.
The Sly Cooper HD trilogy for PS3 has long been playable on PS Plus, dating back to when it was called PS Now, which lets you play the old PS2 games via streaming. But recently, the first Sly Cooper was ported natively to the service andquickly became one of its highest-rated classics. Hopefully, we’llsee Ratchet & Clank get the same treatment. Let’s cross our fingers and hope for PS3 emulation down the line while we’re at it.
