Summary
The first trailer forMultiVersusSeason 2 has been shown off at EVO 2024, confirming that the next two characters coming to the game are Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice.
After more than a year offline,MultiVersus finally returned to us a few months ago and kickstarted things off with a new Season 1. While the addition ofJoker, Banana Guard, Jason, and Agent Smith has mostly been met with positive reception, the season as a wholehasn’t exactly lived up to everyone’s expectations after being gone for so long.
While it’s a shame to start off on a bit of a rocky foot, there’s always a chance for improvement and MultiVersus' second season already seems like it’s going to be a big step in the right direction.Player First Games previously confirmed that a special announcement for MultiVersus was going to be made at EVO 2024, and it certainly lived up to that promise.
Samurai Jack And Beetlejuice Are Coming To MultiVersus
Although some fans were expecting a small announcement considering a deep dive into MultiVersus Season 2 is happening on Monday,Player First Games decided to go big and give us our first look at the next season, which launches on July 23. The trailer started by revealing that Samurai Jack is the next character coming to MultiVersus, complete with his shaggier look from the show’s latest season.
That doesn’t come as too much of a surprise considering how long Samurai Jack has been rumoured to be coming to the game, but it’s still nice to have it confirmed and to actually see him in action. He’s a Brawler character who has fast-paced attacks thanks to his sword and jumping abilities.
Don’t even get me started on how confusing it is that Samurai Jack of all characters isn’t an Assassin…
Jack wasn’t the only character confirmed for Season 2, though. Right towards the end of the trailer,Beetlejuice made a surprise appearance out of nowhere, confirming that he’s also going to be a part of the next season. We didn’t get to see any footage of him in action, but we do at least know that he’s on his way.
It’s not currently clear if Beetlejuice will launch on the same day as Samurai Jack, but considering how staggered Agent Smith’s release was, it seems more likely that he’ll come a bit later on in the year. We’ll probably find that out for sure on Monday, when Player First Games gives us a proper look at Season 2.
