Summary

If you’re like us, you probably spent hours in Queen’s Blood whenFinal Fantasy 7: Rebirthwas released in February. Much likeGwentbefore it, and just about any card game to ever exist, Queen’s Blood was highly addicting. And for good reason, too.

The game, which sees players competing to score the most points in order to win, served as a major focal activity in Rebirth. It quickly became a fan favorite, with many sharing tips and strategies in order to win,as well as complete the PlayStation Trophies associated with the game.

To date,we know that Final Fantasy 7’s remake project will be getting a third and final game. It’s still to be named, but it could be released in 2027. And now we know that Queen’s Blood will be part of the game. What’s more, however, is that Square Enix has plans to make this version of Queen’s Blood even better.

Let’s Do It Bigger And Better

As part of an anime convention hosted in Washington D.C. called Otakon, members of Final Fantasy 7’s cast and crew were on hand for a massive panel discussion. It was there that director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed that they are working on a bigger and better version of Queen’s Blood for Part 3 of the series.

The ever reliable Genki on Twitter translated part of the panel to reveal Hamaguchi’s thoughts about the addictive game. “So right now we are preparing a revamped, even better version of Queen’s Blood for the next title," Hamaguchi is quoted as saying.

It’s unclear exactly how they plan on revamping the game, but it’s an intriguing development nonetheless.

What About A Standalone Queen’s Blood Game?

Now, if you were wondering about a standalone version of Queen’s Blood, that was also discussed.Per Genki’s translation, it’s something that is asked about a lot, but the current priority for the team is revamping the game ahead of Part 3’s release.

It doesn’t rule out a potential standalone title, though, it’s clear that the team has some ideas they would like to flesh out first before committing to a solo game. Perhaps those ideas will first be part of Part 3, then, based off feedback, a final version of Queen’s Blood will eventually come out.

Either way, it’s nice to hear that the people behind Final Fantasy 7 are aware of just how beloved Queen’s Blood is.
