Summary
In an industry where synergy between games, movies, and toys has become harder than ever due to development times and delays,Pokemoncontinues to implement synergy between all of its divisions better than anyone else.Pokemon Scarlet & Violetisn’t even two years old but its Pokemon already have their own Pokemon cards and have appeared in the anime. Some of them already have their own plushes tool, including a few of its Paradox Pokemon.
A new variety of Pokemon introduced to coincide with the time travel elements of Scarlet & Violet, Paradox Pokemon tend to look very similar to Pokemon you’re already familiar with but have a few obvious differences. Scream Tail, for example, is just Jigglypuff with a long quiff and yellow eyes instead of blue ones. It’s also one of three Paradox Pokemon to have already been turned into plushes, and those plushes are now available in the US.

As is often the case with official Pokemon merchandise, the three debuting Paradox plusheswere released in Japan first back in May. I’m still not sure if the plan is to release merch elsewhere regardless of performance or if it’s based on how well products sell in Japan, but either way, the three Paradox Pokemon and the Chien-Pao plush that was revealed along with them are all available at the US Pokemon Center. Chien-Pao isn’t a Paradox Pokemon but was also introduced to fans via Scarlet & Violet like the other three plushes.
Pokemon From The Past And Future In Our Present
Scream Tail Plush
An ancient Pokemon believed to be an early form of Jigglypuff, Scream Tail is one of many Paradox Pokemon that were introduced via Scarlet & Violet. It’s also among the first Paradox Pokemon to get its own plush.
Slither Wing Plush
Volcarona had the honor of getting ancient and future forms when Paradox Pokemon were introduced in Scarlet & Violet. It was also one of the first Paradox Pokemon to be turned into a plush, its ancient form Slither Wing among the first three.
Chien-Pao and two of the other Paradox plushes now available at the Pokemon Center are $31.99 each. Slightly more expensive than most other standard plushes that tend to be either $20 or $25. Slither Wing’s plush is even more expensive, priced at $44.99, but that may be due to its larger size. Seemingly the ancient version of Volcarona that the moth Pokemon likely evolved from, Slither Wing’s plush is 14.5 inches tall, so almost twice the size of the Scream Tail plush it has arrived with.

Flutter Mane Plush
Scarlet & Violet’s Paradox Pokemon are creatures from the past and future that provide a glimpse at what particular Pokemon used to look like or will look like in years to come. Flutter Mane is the ancient form of Misdreavus and is one of three Paradox Pokemon to be among the first to get their own plushes.
Chien-Pao Plush
Legendary Pokemon are almost always pretty intimidating, and Scarlet & Violet’s Chien-Pao is no different. That was until it was turned into a plush for the first time, debuting in that particular department alongside three Paradox Pokemon.
The arrival of Chien-Pao and Pokemon’s first three Paradox plushes rounds out a big and potentially expensive week for Pokemon plush collectors. Fuecoco and Belliboltofficially joined the Pokemon Squishmallow familythis week as pre-orders opened, andthe Pokemon Soda Pop plush range has grown by five. On the bright side when it comes to the Soda Pop plushes, the five new additions are Japan-exclusives for now. They will likely join the other 26 that recently found their way to the US before you know it, though.
