Summary

It’s starting to feel like it’s been a while since we got a newPokemongame. That’s because even though it hasn’t even been two years since the launch ofScarlet & Violet, and while we knowPokemon Legends ZAwill be here in 2025, we don’t know when exactly it will be released. There’s a very real chance the next Pokemon game is more than a year away. All the more reason to finally take the plunge on Scarlet & Violet which is not only now in its best shape ever, but the games bundled with their DLC are heavily discounted at Best Buy.

Even thoughthe newest Pokemon games sold 10 million units in three days, Scarlet & Violet were heavily criticized for their performance issues. While certainly not perfect, if you like Pokemon games, you will enjoy your journey around Paldea. Especially now that you can pick up a copy of the game bundled with both parts of The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero DLC for almost as little as it usually costs to buy the base game all by itself.

You will need to choose whether you want Scarlet or Violet but, as is the case with all pairs of Pokemon games to come before it, the only big difference is some of the Pokemon missing/included in each edition. The cover Pokemon, which joins you on your Paldean journey, will also be different depending on which edition you choose - Miraidon in Violet, and Koraidon in Scarlet. Scarlet & Violet received a two-part DLC post-launch - The Teal Mask and then The Indigo Disk - and you may continue on with them at no extra cost as soon as you’re done with the main game with this bundle.

Now’s The Time To Finally Take The Plunge On Paldea

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet + The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero Bundle

The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero bundles combine the base games with both parts of their DLC - The Teal Mask, and The Indigo Disk.

The bundles usually cost $94.99, the same as it would cost to buy the base game and DLC separately, but have had their price cut to just $61.99 at Best Buy, so just $2 more than a regular copy without the DLC. The discount isn’t showing on the games' store pages, however, once you have added the game to your cart, both the original price and the discounted one should show up. Double check you’re getting the sale price before you check out to make sure the sale is still live, although it’s listed as a clearance item which hopefully means it won’t return to full price until it has sold out.

Although it’s quiet on the new video game front for Pokemon, its Squishmallow family grew by two this week. Fuecoco and Bellibolt, who were revealed earlier this year, can now be pre-ordered through the Pokemon Center. They’re the first Pokemon from Paldea to be turned into Squishmallows.
