Summary

When it comes to open secrets within the games industry, there aren’t many more glaring and obvious than the PS5 Pro. We’ve been waiting for a while for Sony to finally rip the band-aid off and give us a look at the console, which has been rumored and leaked for several months.

Just last week,a design for the PS5 Pro was leakedby reputable PlayStation insider billbil-kun, who also claimed at the time that the system doesn’t have a default disc drive. The sketch that was leaked seemed to show off a regular PS5, with the only difference being several grooves along the side of the body.

With this being a leak, we don’t know for sure whether this design is accurate, but PlayStation itself seems to have pretty much confirmed it with a new image to celebrate the platform’s upcoming 30th anniversary. This image was included ina recent blog post on the PlayStation website, and has the symbols of the PlayStation controller made up of various peripherals released over the past 30 years.

PlayStation May Have Accidentally Revealed The PS5 Pro’s Design

It’s a nifty piece of art, butfans were very quick to noticethat a console that appears to match the PS5 Pro’s leaked design can be seen on the right side of the circle, just underneath the bottom right of the PlayStation logo. We know that this console isn’t the standard PS5, as it has grooves on the body, and we know it’s not the PS5 Slim as there are multiple grooves instead of just one.

In fact, the PS5 Slim is used as part of the square in the image, so we definitely know it’s not a mix-up. It does seem to more likely to be a little teaser on PlayStation’s part, as it’s pretty difficult to imagine a company the size of Sony letting something like that slip by. Either way, there are rumblings of a PlayStation event that will feature the official reveal of the PS5 Pro at some point this month, so we probably don’t have to wait too long to see the real deal.
