With so many islands to visit inFarewell North, it’s easy to get lost in the beauty of Orkney. However, things have changed a great deal since Chesley last visited the Highlands, and not everything is as peaceful as it once was. While paddling the canoe past a few skerries, you’ll find that a whale has been trapped in a net.

There are two skerries you’ll need to visit to free the whale and return it to its pod, but you may get turned around while trying to do so. Luckily, we’re here to help walk you through every step in the process and complete extra objectives along the way.

Southray Skerry

When you first draw near to these neighboring skerries, you’llspot a whale trapped in a net. While there are two separate skerries to visit to free the whale, they aredirectly next to each other, making it easier to complete the puzzle.

To release the net, you’ll have todock on the Southray Skerry. Head up the hill tofind the wooden stakewhere the net is tethered. Your human companion will attempt to free the whale here, but to no avail. Make your way back down the hill tograb a glowing flower, then bring it to her.

This will helpcut the ropeso you can move on to the next stake across the stone bridge. However, it will crumble before you can cross it. Sprint back down the slope andcircle around to the other side of the islandto find a stone arch. Peer through it toput the bridge back into perspectiveand repair it so your companion can reach the stake and cut the rope.

You can alsocollect a wisphere from the small islet offshore!

Northray Skerry

At the Northray Skerry, you’ll need tohead up the hillto find a dilapidated house. The wall of the house is blocked with dark webbing, but you canclimb onto a nearby rock and leap through the window.

Inside, you’ll find the wooden stake that holds the net in place.Pick up the glowing flowerand run through the webbing to dispel it, allowing your human companion to run through andcut the rope. The whale will be freed and rejoin its pod, restoring the islandsto their former glory!
