Summary
The first part of theNo Man’s SkyWorlds update may have been the best thing to happen to the game since its 2016 launch. A “complete refresh” has had players flooding back in their droves on bothPlayStationandPC.
The update has changed the way planets look and feel, with new water, wind, and cloud effects, plus floating islands and somerather strange alterations to bases. One change that wasn’t shared pre-patch, however, was a giant floating eye that can be found in the sky on one of the planets. The eye has caused great excitement among players, leading them to call for the game to add more horror elements.

“Probably the single most disturbing thing I’ve yet”
The eye, which can be found in No Man’s Sky’slatest expedition, was compared to something"straight out of a Lovecraft novel" and sharedon Reddit, generating plenty of conversation within the community. It was seen as an exciting, welcome addition to the game, leading players to call for more similar horror additions.
“We absolutely need more stuff like this in the normal universe"one player said, adding, “just monstrous horrors that exist and can infect planets with bugs/corruption.” Anotherplayer called it"the single most disturbing thing I’ve yet seen in NMS,” wishing that they had “upped the horror on this monstrosity,”

While some players admitted they wanted to see more horror in No Man’s Sky, others shared their grand ideas. “I want to see more eldritch horror stuff like this in the game. Maybe a spaceship boss fight with some world eater,” wasone suggestion. A secondwanted to see"Infected space people on certain planets." It was followed up with athird player calling for"fleshy, corrupted monsters" to appear as “the corruption/void mother starts to break down the world of NMS.”
Whatever it is, it’s certainly an interesting addition and one that players are hoping could turn into something bigger for the game.
