Summary

The successor to theNintendo Switchis coming. We know that for certain now asNintendokeeps warning us not to expect any news on it every time it has something to reveal. Nintendo has also promised information on the Switch 2, or whatever it will be called, before the end of the fiscal year. Some are convinced an official reveal happens this month. However, Nintendo’s push to make the Switch the best-selling console of all time combined with rumors of a new holiday bundle to help make that happen have me convinced the successor’s reveal will have to wait until 2025.

The leak pointing to what Nintendo has planned for its Switch holiday bundlecomes from dealabs, a renowned leaker at this point that is yet to miss as far as I’m aware. According to dealabs, Nintendo will release a new Switch bundle, potentially as soon as the end of September, that combines an OLED model of the console with a digital copy ofSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. Oh, and a three-month subscription toNintendo Switch Onlinewhich tends to come as standard in Switch bundles.

Dealabs can only confirm that the bundle will be available in Europe and retail for 349 euros but noted it’s very likely the US will get the same bundle, or one very similar to it, at around the same time. Two dates to be on the lookout for when it comes to a potential release date for the bundle are September 23 and October 3. Interesting as whichever one Nintendo goes with, if the leak is accurate, the bundle will be available either right before or right afterthe launch of the Hyrule Edition Nintendo Switch Lite.

Nintendo Wonder Bundle Incoming, Probably

The Hyrule Edition Switch Lite will be released on the same day asThe Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdomand it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for Nintendo to release an OLED Wonder bundle at the same time. With the push to become the best-selling console of all time well and truly on, giving those without a Switch, or anyone who wants another, the option of a gold Switch Lite or a bundle that comes with Wonder and its newest model of Switch will only fuel sales numbers heading into the holiday season.

The last time Nintendo updated its Switch sales numbers, the console had surpassed 143 million units sold. That leaves it less than 12 million consoles short of thePS2which, at 155 million, remains the best-selling console of all time. Whether the Switch 2 gets revealed this month or next year, I still think that’s a number the Switch eventually surpasses. Cemented as one of the best and most successful consoles of all time, and still so much more to come almost eight years into its run.
