Almost a month on from Nintendo combining its Hyrule Edition Switch Lite reveal with theLegend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisomannouncement, there has been no sign of how or where to pre-order the console in the US. That has now changed as Best Buy finally has the console in stock. Pre-orders have surprisingly not sold out immediately either, although they did open in the middle of the night in North America. Regardless, even if you’re seeing this hours after the article was published, it’s still worth checking if pre-orders are still available.
Nintendo noted recently thatthe only way it can combat scalpers buying and selling its next consoleis by making enough of them to go around. Perhaps one of the reasons it has created one more special edition Switch is to give itself a practice run for that eventuality. Maybe there are stacks of these Hyrule Edition consoles so that even if Nintendo has some left over after release day, it was a small price to pay to make sure scalpers aren’t reselling them for an inflated price.

The Hyrule Edition of the Switch Lite is gold with black buttons and thumbsticks. It also has a shiny Hylian Crest embossed on the back and a little Triforce symbol under the right stick.
The Hyrule Edition Switch Lite is a gold version of the handheld-only console with black sticks and buttons, a Hylian Crest on the back, and a triforce symbol on the front. Even though it will be released on the same day as Echoes Of Wisdom - July 30, 2025 - it doesn’t include a copy of the game. You will need to buy that separately and pre-orders for it are already open. The console does include a 12-month subscription to NSO and its Expansion Pack though which includes access to all of its virtual consoles as well asMario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass.
Nintendo has promised news on its next console will come before the end of the fiscal year, so any time from now until June 03, 2025. No matter what happens, the gap between the Switch and whatever’s nextis officially the longest between home Nintendo consoles. The record was previously held by the gap between theNESand theSNES. The Switch will have far surpassed that by the time its successor gets here.
