Summary

There’s a very real chance that by this time next year, we will be playing on theNintendo Switch’s successor. We will know what’s coming at the very least asNintendo has promised it will announce something about its next consolebefore the end of the current fiscal year. Between now and then we will continue to ask questions about what’s in store. Will current Switch hames be backwards compatible, are the new Joy-Con really magnetic, and will we be able to bring ouramiiboalong with us?

Another indicator thatNintendodoesn’t plan on leaving amiibo behind with the current generation has reared its head today as Nintendo UK announcedmore than 100 figures have been restocked. That includesSora’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate figurethat, until very recently. most believed would be the last new amiibo released on the Switch. Sora’s amiibo has been hard to find since its release but you can grab one right now from Nintendo UK while stocks last.

Noah and Mio’s Xenoblade double packis also back in stock, the previously believed to be penultimate amiibo of the Switch era, as are the Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf figures that were released on and after the launch ofTears of the Kingdom. The trio of amiibo compatible with the latest Zelda game remain the final amiibo to launch alongside the release of a new game. The Sora, Noah, and Mio figures to come since are linked to games that were released before Tears of the Kingdom.

The US Store Next Please, Nintendo

Also back in stock at Nintendo UK isthe Minecraft double pack,Animal Crossing’s Isabelle, andthe Wedding Outfit Super Mario collectionwhich includes Mario, Peach, and Bowser in the wedding garb they wear at the end ofSuper Mario Odyssey. Lots of in-stock amiibo to scroll through and hopefully this is indicative of two things. One, that Nintendo’s US store will be getting a similarly impressive restock, and two, that Nintendo might be bringing amiibo to the Switch 2.

The massive restock comes two weeks after Nintendo confirmed it isn’t done creating new amiibo. Two Splatoon 3 double packs were revealedand will be released on July 15, 2025, to coincide with the game’s Grand Festival. Hopefully that means other games hitting the Switch after that date will get figures too.The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdomis the most obvious choice, andMario & Luigi: Brothershipamiibo would make up for the last three Mario games getting a grand total of zero figures between them.
