EVO’s official Twitter account has seemingly confirmed that Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice aren’t the only new fighters coming toMultiVersusin Season 2.
Although Season 1 of MultiVersushasn’t exactly been what fans were hoping for after the game spent a year offline, things are already looking a bit more exciting in Season 2, which starts in just a few days on July 23. We finally got our first glimpse at what’s next for the game yesterday during EVO 2024,which revealed that Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice are being added as new fighters.
As great as it is to seeboth Jack and Beetlejuice added to MultiVersus after being rumoured and leaked for so long, some fans have expressed worry that Season 2 is only adding two new fighters, as they’re the only ones who were shown in the trailer and on the key art to go alongside it. Worry not, though, as EVO has seemingly confirmed that they’re just the beginning.
MultiVersus Season 2 Will Get More Than Two New Fighters
Following the reveal of MultiVersus' second season,EVO tweeted out the trailer and said, “Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice revealed as the first two characters coming to Season 2 of MultiVersus”. This seems to suggest that more characters and reveals are on their way during the season and that it won’t just be limited to those two.
Although it’s possible that EVO doesn’t know that more characters are coming and is just guessing, the tweet has remained up for some time now and would have surely been taken down or tweaked if it was incorrect.It also tracks with what we got for the first season of MultiVersus, which introduced three new characters for everyone and afourth for the most dedicated players.
As annoying as it is that I can’t play Agent Smith until Season 2 launches, I’m counting him as a Season 1 character.
We don’t currently know who else could join MultiVersus this season, but considering the theme is “Back in Time”, it does seem to suggest a classic theme.The Powerpuff Girls have been rumoured to be playable fighters for quite some time, so they seem like a very obvious first step,but we do also have a list of leaked characters that emerged after Season 1’s launch.
