Summary

TheLegovideo game series is one of the most beloved in gaming, as it allows you to experience nostalgic moments from your favorite movies and superhero properties in a silly and inventive way. There’s truly never a dull moment in a Lego game, and you engage more with the story than even in its original film format.

From Pirates of the Caribbean to The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars, developer Traveller’s Tales has already launched many incredible and worthwhile Lego video games. Here are some that you might still be yearning for.

10Mission: Impossible Series

Your New Lego Game Adventure, Should You Choose To Accept It

James Bond has had many video game adaptationsof the films already. But one blockbuster spy series with few notable games and perfect for the Lego treatment is the Tom Cruise-led Mission: Impossible film series. In fact, IMF agent Ethan Hunt has already been established in the universe via a Lego Dimensions level pack.

Mission: Impossible brings spy thriller, suspense, and high-octane action set pieces together, where Tom Cruise is never afraid to go bigger and bolder with each movie. You can just see moments like the motorcycle chases, Ethan hanging onto the side of a moving plane, the first movie’s vault and train sequences, and Rogue Nation’s flute gun being parodied in Lego cutscenes.

Rick, Evelyn, and Jonathan stand in the dessert together.

9The Mummy (1999) And Sequels

Robbed Of A Lego Game Adaptation For Far Too Long

Indiana Jones and the Tomb Raider series have largely overshadowed The Mummy films in video game potential, and it’s a crime we haven’t seen the 1999 remake with Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, and John Hannah, along with the sequels, in a Lego game format. The plot, characters, and enemies will fit seamlessly.

The Mummy series has the right tone for a Lego game adventure, balancing charm, humor, and horror with a fantastic cast of memorable characters. There are lots of nostalgic scenes, be it from the first two films, The Scorpion King, or 2008’s Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, that would be amazing to play through.

Jumanji Split-Image Of The Original 1995 Film With Robin Williams On The Cover And The 2017 Film With Jack Black, Karen Gillan, The Rock, And Kevin Hart

8Jumanji Series

An Adventure Premise And Themes Perfect For A Lego Video Game Setting

A Lego video game about a movie about a tabletop game that had sequels where Jumanji was remade into a video game? Yes, please. The 1995 film starring the late Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, David Alan Grier, and Jonathan Hunt will forever remain one of the most iconic adventure movies, and the sequels are an entertaining romp as well.

Based on the book Jumanji written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg, the films tell the story of various characters who get sucked into the titular safari-themed game, and it’s hard to believe there wasn’t any Lego collaboration yet, especially with Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level’s stronger comedic pivot.

Apes Prepare for War in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

7The Planet Of The Apes Saga

“Apes Together Strong”

Rise, Dawn, War, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes are absolutely deserving of a Lego game to re-experience all the best parts of this reimagined saga all over again. This is one of the best reboot film series in cinema history, with these more modern Apes entrieseasily beating out the original movie’s sequels.

The movies follow the main ape character, Caesar, and show his emotional journey as the leader of his band of apes amid the Simian Flu pandemic that’s wiping out humans. The movies only got better and better with each sequel, and the dramatic moments would be interesting to see in a Lego version, not to mention getting to collect and play all the apes.

Lego D&D? Critical Success

While there’s already Lego The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, perhaps it’s time for the fantasy media inspired by them to join the lineup, and the 2023 Dungeons & Dragons movie, Honor Among Thieves, is the perfect opportunity. It’s even more likely now, since Lego has already collaborated with D&D for the Red Dragon’s Tale Lego set and Baldur’s Gate 3 was such a massive hit!

Speaking of the Red Dragon from the Lego set, D&D: Honor Among Thieves features one in the film, among many other iconic creaturesand character builds from the D&D universe. Edgin, Holga, Xenk, Doric, and Simon, along with Hugh Grant’s villain, Forge Fitzwilliam, feel like they’re made for a Lego adventure, and the plot won’t be too hard to adapt.

Tom Hardy as Mad Max from Mad Max Fury Road caged to the front of a car in a desert

2015 already gave us a phenomenal Mad Max video game, but what if you could play through the actual plots of the movies designed as individual levels, starting from the very first one in 1979 up to 2024’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga? “Oh, what a day, what a lovely day” that would be indeed.

Now, these films are R-rated, violent, gory, and dark compared to the other properties that have Lego games, but it would only be more impressiveto see the creativity in censoring the deaths. It’s already a Warner Bros. IP, and getting to have Max’s iconic car in Lego form and all the enemies and villains throughout George Miller’s films might just be what the series needs.

Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Collage Of The Movie Art With Miles Morales Upside Down And The Lego Spider-Man Universe

4Sony’s Spider-Verse Films

A First-Ever PlayStation-Exclusive Lego Game?

There’s already been one multiversal Lego game with 2015’s Lego Dimensions, and there’s no reason there can’t be two. Sony’s animated Spider-Man Into and Across the Spider-Verse movies make a compelling case for it, given there’s already a canon Lego universe with Peter Parker and Lego The Incredibles and The Lego Movie games have seen major success.

This movie series is a visual animation masterpiece starring Miles Morales and a whole bunch of different Spider-Men all throughout the multiverse. It’s miles better than any live-action Spider-Man project Sony developed, and you have countless iconic characters, like Spider-Man Noir, Peter B. Parker, Spider-Ham, Miguel O’Hara, and Gwen Stacy.

Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-1

With the amount of villains the films offer, it’ll also be like Insomniac’s games.

3Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Trilogy

Become A True Guardian

How is it that James Gunn’s Marvel run with Guardians of the Galaxy has come to an end and there still hasn’t been any Lego game collection about the events from the trilogy? While there’s Lego Marvel’s Avengers and Marvel Superheroes (and even a game dedicated to DC’s Super-Villains), Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket, Gamora, and Drax are a team made for Lego.

Granted, the 2021 video game from Eidos Montréal and Square Enix tells a brilliant original narrative with the same humor and charm as the film. However, getting to play the specific events from the movies and seeing the Guardians in Lego action, building, collecting studs, and fighting the variety of enemies through each level would be marvelous, pun intended.

2Avatar And Avatar: The Way Of Water

Time For Avatar’s Box Office Success To Do The Same For Its Lego Games

It’s honestly shocking that Traveller’s Tales hasn’t been asked to do a Lego game of James Cameron’s Avatar film series, which both remain the first and third highest-grossing movies of all time at the global box office. While you did have a video game adaptation for the first film and 2023’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, they

Pandora is an epic setting and would look dazzling in Lego flair. There’d be nothing like seeing all the creatures that inhabit the moon’s various biomes, the RDA ships and mech suits, and locations like the floating Hallelujah Mountains, Tree of Souls, and the Cove of the Ancestors as Lego versions. The closest example to its world design might be Lego Horizon Adventures.

1Dune (2021) And Dune: Part Two

The Lisan Al Gaib Of Lego Games

Dune needs to get a Lego game at the soonest convenience, period. Once again, it’s Warner Bros., a highly popular and successful action-adventure IP, and there’s already a licensed Lego set available for Dune, featuring the House Atreides Royal Ornithopter. And with Dune: Part Two, you haveone of the best film sequels ever made.

A Dune double-feature adventure would work excellently, as there are plenty of iconic shots and sequences between the two movies that would translate well into Lego. How about seeing Baron Harkonnen levitate before Piter De Vries, Paul riding a sandworm, or the opening sequence from Dune Part: Two all done in Lego fashion?
