Summary
ThePokemon TCGgives a bit of love to its ever-growing roster of creatures. With over a thousand Pokemon to catch and collect, at least the TCG makes it easy to build a collection around your favorite Pokemon and trainers.
One such Pokemon is Lapras, which is considered a rare and endangered species in the Pokemon World. This Pokemon is the perfect companion for a hot summer beach day or even as a rideable steed that can ferry you across the ocean. So, if you love Lapras, here are the eight most valuable Lapras cards in the Pokemon TCG.

Prices reflected are as seen onTCGplayer.comand may be subject to change with time.
8Lapras GX Rainbow $10.15
The Most Colorful Lapras
PokemonSun and Moon’s base setin the TCG introduced many tropical Pokemon from both the Kanto and the Alola regions. One such Pokemon to get a new printing during this time is Lapras GX, which has a stellar rainbow rare version. This is the most expensive version of the card.
For one Energy, Lapras GX lets you draw three cards. For three, Lapras can use Blizzard Burn, which does 160 damage but stops you from using moves with Lapras on the next turn. GX Moves are powerful attacks that can only be used once per game. For Lapras GX, this is Ice Beam GX, which deals 100 damage and Paralyzes your opponent’s Pokemon.

7Lapras McDonalds Promo $10.36
The Battle For Happy Meal Toys
Pokemon has had plenty of collaborations with McDonald’s in which a select few cards from their current sets are printed in a new rarity and slid into every Happy Meal. These cards often become expensive as they quickly run out or become heavily damaged from their time next to the chicken nuggets and fries.
For one Energy, Aqua Bullet does 20 damage to one of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. For three Energy, Hydro Pump does 70 damage but does ten more for each Energy attached to Lapras. The holographic effect also fits Lapras surprisingly well due to its Ice-typing in the original games.

6Lapras Skyridge $10.37
Elusive E-Reader Cards
The Skyridge set of the Pokemon TCGhas plenty of neat E-Reader cards to collect, many of which will only become more scarce with time. A Lapras card was also printed during this time, and its Pokedex data was contained within the scannable barcode.
Lapras has two Moves it can use. Its first Move, Assist, costs two Energy and allows you to search your deck for a Supporter Card and add it to your hand. Hypnoblast costs three Energy and deals 30 damage with a chance to force your opponent’s Pokemon to go to Sleep. It may not be the most powerful Lapras card, but it’s definitely worth collecting to complete your E-Reader stash.

5Lapras HeartGold SoulSilver $11.03
Return To Johto
The HeardGold and SoulSilver era breathed new life into the Johto region. With the DS games returning to the region right next to Kanto, a whole new collection of cards based on the generation two remakes saw print. This Lapras is a Promo edition given with select boxes and bundles during the set’s lifespan.
For one Energy, Ferry lets you add a Supporter card to your hand. However, this time from your Discard Pile. Surf costs three Energy to use and does 40 damage. While cards like these may not hold up in the competitive meta, they can still add up in value due to their holo foiling.

4Lapras Legends Maker $19.00
Searching For Your Best Cards
Another delicious holo rare Lapras can be found in the Legend Maker set of the Pokemon TCG. It finally ditches having its Supporter searching Move in favor of making it a Poke-Power. This ability is Support Navigation, which can be used the moment you play Lapras from your hand to the Bench. This time, you get your Supporter card without having to use Energy.
This move would later become a staple of powerful Pokemon cards in the modern game and make up for its otherwise weak Move. This Move is Surf, which does thirty damage for two Energy.

3Lapras Southern Islands $20.74
A Fun Summer Set
The Southern Islands set contains 18 cards to promote the film, Pokemon 2000. These cards were originally divided between two separate islands called Tropical Island and Rainbow Island. For their release in America, both sets were combined into one collection.
Lapras from the Southern Island Set has two Moves. The first is Gentle Song, which heals both Pokemon on each side of the field for one Energy. However, it puts your opponent’s Pokemon to sleep after doing so. Ice Beam costs two Energy and does 20 damage. Then, you may flip a coin to see if your opponent’s Pokemon ends up Paralyzed.

2Lapras EX $45.55
A Generation Three Lapras
Lapras EX from the Ruby and Sapphire set is a real gem to look at. It features a 3D rendered Lapras and a holographic foiling that extends to the border of the card, making it look extra sparkly.
For one Energy, Energy Ball does ten damage and an additional ten damage for each extra Energy attached to it. However, this caps the damage at 30. Confuse Ray is a little better, doing 30 damage for three Energy but also allowing you to get a guaranteed Confusion on your opponent’s Pokemon. No need to flip a coin this time.

1Lapras Fossil $86.66
A Trip Down Nostalgia Lane
The original Fossil expansion for the Pokemon TCGincludes many exotic and rare Pokemon from the Kanto region. All these cards still have that distinct generation one art and card designs, and the rarest versions of them feature the first edition stamp on the side.
While the Moves aren’t the best today, they were once ok, with a ten-damage Confuse Ray and a maximum 30-damage Water Gun, this is a card that you want due to how retro it is. There is just something about the early Pokemon TCG’s holographic style that just fills older players with nostalgia and is an essential part of the collection.
