Case in point: Mega Man will be starring in a new video game, and that video game will be out in less than a month’s time. There’s just one problem… Mega Man will be part of Funko Fusion as a guest character. In other words, this isn’t Mega Man 12 or a Mega Man Legends anthology collection. It’s just another collaboration.
The iconic blue bomber was revealed to be part of the upcoming IP mashup in a new trailer on Monday. There, the Funko-fied version of Mega Man and Rush are shown traversing throughout the wacky world of various movies and TV series.

For the uninitiated,Funko Fusionis the debut game from 10:10 Games, and it’ll launch on multiple platforms beginning on Sept. 13.10:10 Games is a new venture led by former executives of Traveller’s Tales, the studio behind the massively popular LEGO video games.That’s why the gameplay looks strikingly similar to previous LEGO titles, except with Funko Pops in place of minifigures.
Mega Man Has Been Relegated To Collab Duty
As for Mega Man, things have been pretty rocky for fans. The last mainline entry was 2018’s Mega Man 11, and while there have been several collections of past Mega Man games, including theXandBattle Network series, things have been pretty quiet when it comes to a new game.
Instead, Mega Man, or at least the world of Mega Man, has been the subject of various collaborations over the years. For example,Exoprimalhad a Mega Man collaboration,as well as Monster Hunter Rise. Elsewhere,Mega Man costumes are included in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition, including Tron Bonne and MegaMan.EXE.
Heck, there’s even an official Mega Man coffee collaboration in the wild.
Like we said at the top, things are pretty painful in the world of Mega Man. Monday’s announcement is just another day in the life of Mega Man fans. It was truly a monkey’s paw curls kind of moment, and not in a good kind of way, either.
