Summary
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOPhas made a controversial change from the originals, as part of itsnew graphics setting. Judging from a new gameplay preview, using the remaster’s RePOP graphics will remove both the comic book filter and the stylised comic book page intros for key characters.
This is a massively unpopular move with fans, who fear that the remaster is removing much of the charm from the originals. As highlighted by one player, the removal of the comic book character intros could also get in the way of one of the gags in the game, as the original showed Juliet pushing one of the intros to the side and breaking the fourth wall.

Lollipop Chainsaw Fans Worry That RePOP Will Be A Visual Downgrade
This visual change was spotted in agameplay preview, hosted by RePOP’s developer Dragami Games. Content creator Sonickick put the changes side by side so we can see what Dragami’s new RePOP graphics look like in action, and it seems that few fans see this as a downgrade, not an improvement.
As the trailers for the game have been quick to mention, we do have the option to revert back to the original visuals. This will, presumably, restore the comic book effects and character intros, although we can’t say that for sure until RePOP launches.
The promotional footage for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP has all been captured using the RePOP mode, which is described as featuring “less violence” and “uses pop-art damage effects”. The original mode is said to be “based on the original release”, although it remains to be seen just how faithful this is to what we played back in 2012.
