Summary
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomjust got a new gameplay trailer, covering how we’ll traverse around Hyrule. As well as showing off some new locations and giving us a sneak peek at some of the quests we can take on, the trailer confirms thatZeldais getting a horse of her own, making it easier to get around the overworld.
Better yet, it even looks like the horse is customisable, as we see two different appearances for the steed in the trailer. It’s unclear how varied this will be, but the trailer does show off a few outfits for Zelda herself, so we can expect a good amount of customisation here too.

The trailer also shows off another new mechanic: binding. This lets Zelda magically lift large objects that are in her way. Binding has over uses too, as we see Zelda use it on echoes, and even to drag enemies off a cliff, so it looks like we’ll be left to figure out the best uses for this mechanic ourselves.
However, despite all these new features, it does seem that Echoes of Wisdom will have some traditional Zelda gameplay too. As we reported last month, the ESRB age rating for Echoes of Wisdom mentions Link being playable, using his sword and shield as he does in other Zelda games. It’s unclear how long he’ll be playable for compared to Zelda, as it’s possible that he’ll just be there to set things up at the beginning, but we do know that we will control him at some point in the game.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is set to launch on September 26, exclusively forNintendo Switch.
