Summary
Two years on fromthe Kingdom Hearts 4 announcement, we are still none the wiser as to when exactly the next game in the series will be here. At leastwe now have Kingdom Hearts games on Steamfor the first time to tide us over. Oh, and a fancy new enamel pin being released during D23 this weekend. Hey,Disney’s biggest weekend of the year during which all sorts of upcoming projects get announced, maybeKingdom Hearts 4will be a part of that. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves for now and just focus on the pin.
Revealed by Figpin over the weekend, the addition to its Kingdom Hearts collection is based on Sora’s look while in the Space Paranoids world in Kingdom Hearts 2. Set in the same world as the Tron movies, the pin shows Sora in the outfit he wears during that section of the sequel. The pin will look best when the lights are off as parts of it, including Sora’s face, will glow blue, really making the protagonist look like he’s once again stuck in Space Paranoids.
Other than a first look at the pin, and that it will be a D23 exclusive, Figpin hasn’t revealed more details about its new Sora. It will almost certainly come in a display case style box like most other Figpins and probably cost $20, or maybe a little more since it’s exclusive and glows in the dark. Don’t despair if you won’t be at D23 this weekend either as just because it has been given the exclusive label, it doesn’t mean it won’t be available to buy online.
Hopefully You Won’t Need To Be At D23 To Get One
We won’t know this for sure until Disney and Figpin reveal more details, but the pin might be available to buy online as well as in person during D23 weekend. The exclusivity might simply mean D23 is the only place you can physically buy the pin and detail when it will be released. San Diego Comic-Con this year featured various Funko Pops that were all labeled exclusives, butall of them were also released on Funko’s websitefor people not at this year’s SDCC.
If the pin does get an online release, it probably won’t be in stock for long. Some of SDCC’s exclusive Pops sold out almost instantly once they were added to the Funko site. If you want to add Space Paranoids Sora to your collection, you will need to keep a close eye on Figpin’s socials across D23 weekend which begins on August 9.
