Check Out The Latest Trailer For Killer Bean
For those of you who are, like me, painfully out of the loop here, Killer Bean is a series that has existed for a long time. Starting with a short film back in 1996, Killer Bean has since spawned various other animations over the years, and even a game that launched on mobile.
This latest outing, simply titled Killer Bean, comes to us courtesy of series creator, Jeff Lew, who also voices the titular bean. It is described as a roguelike that is played in both first and third person and is packed with daft, cartoony violence. In both gameplay and tone, it looks like something from the noughties. We’ll just have to wait and see if this will be a welcome nostalgia trip.
Killer Bean isn’t the only game from today’s showcase that looks like it’s from another era. If you want your retro fix to go back a bit further, you might want tocheck out Power Rangers Rita’s Rewind.
Killer Bean appears to have pretty varied combat, with players able to use guns and their fists, as well as dramatically dodge bullets - or even shoot them out of the air before they hit you. It also looks like traversal will vary throughout the run, as we see the player run around environments and take use a jet ski to chase after enemies.
The Killer Bean game wasinitially announced back in 2021. Now, it looks like players won’t have to wait much longer until they can try it themselves, even if we don’t have a specific release date.
Killer Bean is coming to Steam via early access this summer.
