On your mark, get set,(Monopoly) Go! This weekend, we have another longer-term event taking place in Scopely’s hit mobile game, asking you and your friends to team up to make it the furthest around the elaborate racing track set up at the center of your Monopoly Go board.
Races will last for 24 hours each, and the winning teams will walk away with some pretty impressive prizes. Races begin at 12 noon EST each day from August 2 until August 4, so start your engines, choose your teammates wisely, and get to earning points in Monopoly Go’s City Racers.
How To Play City Racers
Now that we seem to have moved on from the Olympics-themed events, you may have noticed that you’ve begun receivingFlag tokensfrom the other, shorterevents like Midnight Driveand the daily tournaments. These are essential to the City Racers event, as you’lluse the Flag tokens to drive your team’s race car.
With the three teammates you select for the event, you’ll beracing against three other teams of fourto see who canearn the most pointsbetween the four teams during each of thethree races totalthroughout the weekend event.
Don’t worry about uneven match-ups during the Monopoly Go City Racers event - team match-ups are done using an algorithm to pair your team against ones with similar activity levels, dice available, board progress, and more, so you’ll be playing against people who play like you.
How To Earn Points In City Racers
After you’ve collected a good number of Flag tokens, you’ll want to head over to the City Racers section of your Monopoly Go board, where you’llspend Flag tokens to roll three dicethat exclusively move your team’s City Racers car (not your actual game token).
The total of the three dice is multiplied by your roll multiplierthat indicates how many Flag tokens you’d be spending, as your scores tend to be in partner games in Monopoly Go. You have24 hours per raceto spend your Flag tokens to earn points.
If you happen toroll a doublewhile you’re rolling for the City Racers points, yourdice roll will be doubled before having the multiplier applied.
Likewise, rollingthree like numberswill insteadtriple your base scorebefore applying the dice roll multiplier. It’s out of your control, but it’s one of the quickest ways to earn a lot of City Racers points at once!
Collect All Rewards In Monopoly Go’s City Racers
You’ll notice the black and white checkerstarting linealong the track, and while it may be hard to keep track of as you’re driving,completing a set number of lapsis your ticket to being able tochoose an individual prizefor yourself as you and your team work toward the top prize.
Since you’re all contributing to the movement of the same car,everyone on the team gets a lap reward at the same time. Keep an eye on thecounter near the starting lineto see how many more laps your team’s car must complete before collecting another reward.
Lap rewards allow you tochoose one of at least two optionsfor potential prizes, including things like generous numbers ofextra dice rolls, assortedsticker pack colors, extra Flag tokens to use to continue spinning, and more. Choose whichever one you need, and keep on rolling!
On top of the lap rewards you earn during City Racers in Monopoly Go, your team as a whole will receivea prize at the end of each of the three races,depending on how you scored against the other four teams.
Scores reset every 24 hoursto denote the new race, so you’ve gotthree chances to win.
Thetop prizeis a big one during the City Racers event: not only do you get anew tokenofScottie in a race car, but there’s also aWild Stickeron the line that allows you tochoose any missing stickerfrom the entire Monopoly Games album as your prize,guaranteeing a completed albumif it was the last one you needed!

Be sure to play diligently through the weekend to keep collecting more Flag tokens for City Racers in Monopoly Go, since the event isa great way to earn a plethora of bonus stickersfor theMonopoly Games albums, some of which have been notoriously tough to get so far.
Even if you don’t get the Wild Sticker prize, you can alwaysask friends to trade for stickers you don’t have. Collecting 250, 500, and 750 stars' worth of sticker doubles also allows you to trade in for progressively better prizes, transmuting extra stickers to dice rolls and even new sticker packs.
