How To Activate Focus Tools

To use the focus tools added in Weyrdlets, you’ll need to beplaying Weyrdlets from your desktop. One of the biggest attractors of the game is that your cute little digital pal can leave the game and get to work with you, hanging out on your PC’s desktop to keep you company while you work.

To enter Desktop mode, use the bottom right Hot Corners button and select the second option from the bottom, acomputer monitor with a pawprinton it. This brings you and your pet back to your computer, where you’ve now got ample chances to hang out as you work!

Once you’re in desktop mode, you’ll want thegear iconon your Weyrdlets toolbar, the last icon in the brown section of the toolbar. By dropping this down, you’ll be able to access the first button, which looks like adownward-facing arrow, which enters the Widget menu.

There are plenty of accessibility settings offered in Weyrdlets, which can be changed from the Widgets menu. These include whether your pet digs on the desktop, whether you see the current time or your pets stats, and plenty more. We’re looking specifically, though, at thePomodoroandTo-Do Listsettings.

How To Use The Pomodoro Technique Timers

The Pomodoro Technique is a focus method some people swear by, wherein youwork for a set amount of time, take a short break, return, and repeatuntil it’s time for a slightly longer break. People find it helpful to pause for a minute or two and recenter before diving back into work, and if you’re among them, Weyrdlets offers a baked-in timer.

The Pomodoro timers in Weyrdlets allow you tocustomize your workload and timers, giving you options to change to best suit how the method works for you.

When you’ve finished a whole Pomodoro, your computer willrain tomatoesto let you know it’s time to either start or stop working. It’s a neat way to keep you on track without needing to use external timers for the Pomodoro Method!

How To Use The To-Do List

Requiring a bit less explanation, Weyrdlets also offers you a fairly straightforwardTo-Do list option. If you’re someone who forgets the things they need to finish on a daily basis, then theto-do list that stays on-screen(if you’d like it to) offer great reminders baked right into your PC.

Afteractivating the to-do listfrom the Widgets menu, you’ll have the option toadd tasksto this list, which then remains on screen to keep them fresh on your mind. Once you’re finished, click the task to finish it. you may choose whether cleared tasks stay on the list or not.

If you have a second monitor on your PC setup, I’ve found it helpful to leave the to-do list on the monitor I’m not using and check it throughout the day - that way it’s still prevalent, but it’s not taking up too much real estate on the main monitor.
