There are plenty of ways to make Kay Vess stronger inStar Wars Outlaws, from outfitting her with excellent gear to upgrading her Blaster and pretty much everything in between. However, to upgrade your Blaster, you must progress through the game’s main storyline a bit before it becomes available.
Fortunately, the wait is worth it, as the Blaster’s upgrades are tremendous. They allow you to change its firing type, improve its accuracy, and even better manage its cooling, among other things. If you want to enhance your gunslinging ability, we recommend unlocking these upgrades as soon as possible!

How To Upgrade Your Blaster In Star Wars Outlaws
Before upgrading your Blaster in Star Wars Outlaws, you must first meet a few prerequisites. First things first, you mustcompletethe ‘New Tricks’main quest,havingWaka repair the Trailblazer,allowing you to walk around it freely.
Once yougain access to the Trailblazer,you will find aWorkbench near the western wing of the ship,and that is where you will go toupgrade your Blaster.However, before you can begin upgrading your Blaster, youmust obtain the requisite materials and, in some cases, the schematicsto do so.

Upgrading Your Blaster In Star Wars Outlaws
If youhave the required materials and partsto upgrade your Blaster,head to the Workbenchin the Trailblazer andclick in the right analog stickwhile near it. This willopen a menu that allows you to either upgrade the Blaster’s Modules or change its Appearance.
Click on the’Modules’ tab toopen the upgrade sub-menu,where you can finallychoose which upgrades you’d liketo make to your Blaster. Here, you can access thePlasma, Ion, and Power Modules,each containing various upgrades and firing types.
Youwon’t have access to all Modules right off the bat,but you can get a sense of everything you can do with your Blaster from these menus. From here, you will have togather upgrade materials and find specific resources to further upgrade your Blaster,which can be done in a handful of ways.
Best Way To Obtain Materials And Resources
When it comes toacquiring upgrade materialsfor your Blaster,taking on Contracts will be an excellent wayto obtain them pretty frequently. In addition to that,reaching the ‘Excellent’ statuswith both theHutt CartelandAshiga Clanfactions will grant you ‘Blaster Part Bundles,’ which will give youTONS of valuable resourcesneeded to upgrade your Blaster.
Furthermore,each planet will have Armorers that will sell upgrade materials for your Blaster.If yourreputation is high enoughwith their respective faction, they willoffer unique items and even have discounts,so be sure not to tick anyone off you may regret!
Looting chests and containers and picking up random materials during missions is also an excellent way to obtain lots of upgrade resources for your Blaster. Always pick an area clean before moving on to maximize your opportunities to enhance your Blaster!
Obtaining Specific Materials And Schematics
SomeMaterials and upgrade schematics are obtained through specific questlines,some being tied to themain storylineand others being rewards forExpert Intelsub-quests. For instance, thePower Modulefor your Blaster is obtained via the ‘Gunsmith’ questline, which is one of themain quests that become available upon completing ‘The Wreck.’
ThePower Modulewill allow you tocharge up a powerful shot with your Blaster that is capable of breaking some rocksin the environment, making it an extremely valuable tool. It also does lots of damage to enemies, so we recommend getting it as soon as possible when it becomes available.
Regardingspecific resources or rare items,you can access the ‘Requirement Details’ byhovering over the upgrade you wantand pressingY/Triangle.This will give youall the information you need on where and how to obtain the materialsyou need. You can alsopress Y/Triangle again to bring its location up on your map!
If a specific Module or upgrade path is locked, have patience. These will often become available to you as you progress through the game’s main storyline and meet more characters who can enhance your Blaster. Additionally, always gather Expert Intel from merchants and NPS, as they often lead to really unique rewards, some of which are Key Upgrade Materials for your Blaster!
