Although the casual player will most likely get decent gear through simply leveling and doing some end-game content, only some know the secrets behind upgrading your gear to make it as powerful as it can be.

Where To Upgrade Gear In The War Within

Abronze DracthyrnamedCuzolthwill upgrade your gear. He can be found inDornogal, in a room called Mythic Aspirations,straight ahead from the Foundation Hall. From here, simply talk to him to begin upgrading your gear.

How To Upgrade Gear In The War Within

Gear can beupgradedvia two currencies:ValorstonesandHarbringer Crests.Valorstonesare obtained through most sources, includingWorld Quests,Mythic+ Dungeons,Raids,rares, and someend-game quests.

Your character can only carry2000 Valorstones at a time, so keep an eye out and keep spending.

Harbringer Crests, however, come in four types:Weathered,Carved,Runed, andGilded. Below is a comprehensive table of each type of crest and where they are obtained.

Ablue DracthyrnamedVaskarnwillexchange your crestsfor thedowngraded versionsif you have enough. He can be foundright next to Cuzolth. Each exchange will cost15x of the higher crest. For instance, It will cost 15 Gilded Harbringer Crests to get 15 Runed Harbringer Quests.

Additionally, those with characters atlevel 70 or higher with Khaz Algar Enchantingcan craft upgraded crests.Nascent Crestscan first be bought fromLlande, Dornogal’s Enchanting Supplies NPC, who is located at a standtowards the southeast entrance.

She will exchange30x Weathered Crestsforone Nascent Weathered Crest,45x Runed Crestsforone Nascent Runed Crest, and90x Gilded Crestsforone Nascent Gilded Crest. These Nascent Crests can then becombinedwith the items below to becomeEnchanted versionsof themselves:
