The introduction of the Warband system has also modified how you view and sort your characters on their select screen, allowing you to see your characters together for the first time in Warcraft’s storied history. Here’s everything you need to know about the Warband system.

What Are Warbands?

The warband system is one that connects all characters on your account like never before. Although the poster-image for the system shows four of your characters sitting around a campfire on the character select screen, your warband includes all of your characters, no matter how many you have.

Thefour sitting together are your favorites, andyou can swap them with any of your other characters at any time. Clicking on these characters or selecting their names on your character list will allow you to enter Azeroth and play them.

For your non-favorites, you simply need to scroll down your character list to find them in order to do the same. With the introduction of warbands, all your characters will be listed together, no matter what realm (server)they hail from.

Mousing over your characters on the character select screen will show you how much gold they have and what professions they know, as well as what their current class specialization is.

How To Use Warbands

All of your characters being connected creates novel ways for you and your characters to interact with each other and the worlds of Warcraft.

While each of your characters maintains their own inventory and currencies, being in a Warband lets them share and move items and currenciesbetween each other.

Before warbands, only select currencies like gold were able to be mailed between your characters.

In a world with Warbands, the currencies tab of your character interface shows you what currencies can be transferred between your characters.Currencies with a red campfire iconnext to them allow you to transfer funds from other characters with that currency.

Since the addition of warbands, most in-gameitems are Warbound, meaningthey can be mailed between characters, even ones on different realms.

Additionally, achievement progress is shared between all your characterswith the introduction of warbands, making progress toward the more difficult ones a team effort.

Gear and weapons are also an important part of the warband system. Going forward with the system, your character canunlock the transmog appearances of any weapon or piece of gearthat falls into their hands,no matter their classor armor skill.

Because of this, the appearance interface now has options toview the armor sets and appearances of any class on any character, making transmog hunting more manageable and streamlined.

Warbands can also share gear more easily, making the process of gearing alts more efficient. If a weapon or gear piece falls into your hands that your character cannot use or that you think is needed more by another one of your characters, you can simply mail it to them orsummon your Warband Bankand place it in there.

The Warband Bank is not just for gear, however, and crafting reagents and other useful items can be deposited, so your alts can withdraw them later.

The Warband Bank is on a2-hour cooldownand allows you toaccess it for 10 minutes at a time. The more characters you have, the shorter the cooldown becomes.

Certain reputation factions are also affected by the warband system.Renown factions, like the major factions of the Dragon Isles, are shared throughout your warband, making access to gear and other benefits easier and quicker to achieve for your alts.
