Of the various difficulty levels for content inFinal Fantasy 14, ‘Savage’ represents some of the absolute hardest content you can take on - the only encounters that top Savage raids are the Ultimate encounters. To compensate for the ridiculous difficulty levels, Savage Raids reward you with powerful equipment and, in the case of the fourth fight of a tier, unique mounts.

Dawntrails' Savage raids will have you fighting souped-up variants of the gladiators you toppled in the Light-heavyweight round of the Ascension Arcadia Championship, with new forms, new attacks, and new crushing defeats to overcome. Here’s how to unlock the fights.

How To Unlock Savage Raids

If you’ve unlocked Savage raids before, you should be familiar with this unlock process: you simply need tospeak to an NPC after completing a full raid tier in Normal Mode.

In Dawntrail, this means completing all four fights of the Light-heavyweight division,M1, M2, M3, and M4.

Of course, this also meanscompleting Dawntrails' main scenario.

After completing the tier in Normal Mode, you’ll need to head on over toGabbroinSolution Nine (X:22.3, Y:17.1)and speak to him, choosing to recount your tales. He’s basically Alexandria’s version of the Wandering Minstrel.

Unlocking Savage Mode willunlock all four fights at once, so you can take them on in any order.

It’s nigh-on-impossible to complete or even queue up a Savage Mode fight using the Duty Finder - you’ll have to use the Party Finder to join or construct a party to take on the fight of your choosing.
