There are more than a dozen dungeons to explore inDungeons of Hinterberg, and each one offers unique challenges and opportunities to become a better slayer. The more you explore, the more loot you can find! The Overgrown Cave is one such dungeon, though it isn’t available right away.
Here, we’ll help you find and complete the Overgrown Cave dungeon. It’s more difficult than the early dungeons, but it’s manageable when you come prepared. Every puzzle has a solution, and we’ll walk you through it so you can emerge victorious. Here’s everything you need to know to become the best slayer in Hinterberg!
How To Unlock The Overgrown Cave
The Overgrown Cave islocated in the Hinterwald, but it’sunreachable at first. You’ll need tocomplete other dungeons firstto gain access in a few days.
You’ll beinformed in the morningthat the way to the dungeon is clear once you’re able to access it.
When you first arrive in the Hinterwald, head up the wooden stairs andtake the path to your left. Past the watermill and to the right is a chasm.Use the zipline to cross the gapand head up the hill to reach the Overgrown Cave portal.
Overgrown Cave Puzzles
When you first enter the Overgrown Cave,follow the pathdown the tunnel until you reach the fiery brambles.Use your whirlwind abilityto scoop Luisa up andcarry her across the bramblesto the other side of the room.
Continue on to the next room featuring a bridge.Use your ranged attackon the target to your left torotate the platformso you can cross. In the next room, you’ll drop down and have to fight off some Kobolds. Then, climb along the walls toget higher up and reach the next areain the dungeon.
Step onto the wooden platform, which will descend under Luisa’s weight.Follow the tunnelto reach the next puzzle, which is a bit more complicated.
Tip The Scales
There aretwo platforms in the chamberthat will move under Luisa’s weight. You’ll need tobalance them so she can climb outand into the next room. There aretwo large blue blocksin the area, souse your whirlwind to pick them upand drop them onto the wooden platform on the left.
It will then be heavy enough for Luisa toclimb atop the platform leading to the next area. Head on through to find another wooden platform and four small purple pods.Pick these up with your ranged attackand launch them at the platform so that it’s weighed down. This willopen the gateso you can proceed.
There will be another fight in the next room, sodispatch the monsters quicklyand then proceed down the tunnels with string lights adorning them.
In the next room, there will betwo wooden platforms and four pods again. Throw all four podsonto the raised platformto lower it, then step onto it. Throw the podsonto the other platformnow tolift yourself up to the edgeand climb out of the room.
When the first platform is lowered, you can loot the room beyond the gate before moving forward!
The last weight puzzle has two heavy blocks on a wooden platform, and another platform that’s empty. You’ll need touse your whirlwind to pick up both blocksfrom the lowered platform, thenmove them to the other platformas it descends.
Have Luisa run up to the platformat the end of the room, thenuse the whirlwind again to pick up the blocks, go up the rocky slope, anddrop both blockson the raised platform. This willlift Luisa up to the ledgeso she can leave the room.
Overgrown Cave Final Fight
Once you finish all the puzzles, you’ll reach the second-to-last chamberwhere you’ll face off againstseveral rounds of monsters. Be careful, as these monsters are a bit different from the rest!
Thankfully, they can be defeated all the same.Use your magic abilitiesto help you move about the room quickly and launch ranged attacks. After they’re all defeated, you’re able to leave the room andfind Alex waiting for youat the exit.Stamp your book and use the portalto go home.
