Like with manyotomegames,Love And Deepspacerequires you to get to know the eligible characters before you’re able to enter a romance with them. Your progress with characters is measured through the collection of Affinity points. These points are scored by level and the higher your level of Affinity with a character, the more interactions you will unlock with them.
Luckily, since forging lasting relationships is at the center of Love And Deepspace, there are countless ways to gain Affinity points with the characters, and most of them are fairly easy. As long as you are spending time with each of the romancable characters and investing in your relationship, your Affinity will increase.
What Is Affinity?
Since Love And Deepspace is ultimately anotome game, it stands to reason that the only way to progress is tobuild lasting relationshipswith the dating candidates. In this case, themetric for tracking relationshipprogress with the characters is calledAffinity.
Each of the main love interests has aseparate Affinity levelthat is tracked as you interact with them and progress in their storylines. As thislevel increases, so does yourbondwith that character.
Affinity Levels
One of the key things to remember about Affinity is thatevery character has a separate Affinity levelthat updates only when you complete interactionsspecific to them. For instance, Xavier’s Affinity level can only be increased by interacting with him.
You must reach certainAffinity level milestoneswith a single character to unlock theirlevel-specific items. So, say you and Zayne are at Affinity level 45. You willunlock any Level 45 benefitswith Zayne alone. To get level 45 benefits withanother character, you will have tolevel their Affinity separately.
It is also important to note that for some Wish Pool memories to become interactive in the dates menu, you need toreach certain level milestoneswith that character.
You can check what level you need to unlock an interactive memory in theDates tabunder ‘By Your Side’ or ‘Falling For You’.
How To Raise Affinity
The great thing about Affinity is that it’s thecentral leveling systemfor the entire game, and as such, you canraise Affinity the easiestout of all the different leveling types.
You can improve your Affinity level with a character bycompleting just about any character-specific interactionthere is with that character. You’ll ultimately end upleveling Affinity for everycharacter organically as you progress through the storyline.
Memories
Arguably, the most reliable way to improve your Affinity level with a character is topull their memories from the Wish Pool. Depending on therarityof the memory, the number of Affinitypoints you earn will vary.
Five-Star Memoriesoffer thelargestAffinity boost out of the three memory rarities.
Pulling memories from the Wish Pools isnot the only wayMemories contribute to a character’s Affinity level.
As yourank up and upgrade your Memories, you’ll get Affinity XP. So, to quickly raise your Affinity levels with a character,check the Memory screen frequentlyto see which ones can be upgraded or ranked up. This will also help you stay prepared for more difficult battle stages.
you may get memories byusingEmpyrean Wishesin the Wish Pool at any time. You can also useSpecial Wishesto pull from event-specific pools during event periods.
Leveling memoriesrequires Wish Bottleswhile ranking memories up requirespulling duplicatesof that memory. You need to pull a memorythree timesto max out its rank.
Finally, the last way that Memories can increase your Affinity level is byinteracting with playable memoriesin the ‘Falling For You’ Date menu.
Some Memories unlock complete,first-person story momentswith the characters, while others unlockAnecdotesor audio stories in the ‘By Your Side’ tab.Completingany of these Memory events for thefirst timewill improve your Affinity with that character.
This means that you willautomatically gain Affinitythrough every step of the Memory making process, from pulling to playing.
The Phone
Your phone, like your Hunter’s Watch, is one of the most critical parts of your Hunter Story. On your phone, you canread articles, make posts, reply to posts, and interactwith the characters (and not just the romanceable ones).
The phone is a great way to raise Affinity with the charactersquickly. The best way to use it is tocheck in frequentlyand make sure you are completingevery available interaction.
You’llunlock moreinteractions as your Affinity level and storyline progress increases.
There arefour waysto interact with Characters on the phone:
Every time you receive and finish a phone call or reply to a text, yourAffinity will increasewith whichever character you interact with.
Youdo not need to answerphone calls or texts ‘live’ to get the Affinity boost. you’re able to send calls toVoicemailand play them later.
You will also gain Affinity whenliking or commentingon character posts in the Social tab (thecamera shuttericon). Occasionally, you will createyour own postsas part of the main or event storylines. When the romance options respond to your post,liking and commenting on their responseswill also improve your Affinity.
Depending on how long you’ve spent away from the game, you will alsoreceive away messagesfrom the men. These will be cute little reminders that they miss you or that they want you to respond to their texts.Respondingto them will make them happy.
You can always look back at completed text messages by selecting theclock iconin the top right of your messages screen.
Dates
Dates are another great way to improve your Affinity with a character. There arefive types of dates: The Photo Studio, Playtime, By Your Side, Falling For You, and Anecdotes.
Playtimeencompassesgamesyou can play with your romance option. The two choices areKitty Cardsand the Claw Machine. Both options will allow you to spend time with the character of your choice and earn Affinity with them.
Playtime dates will also give youChocolatesto spend in the Chocolate Shop.
By Your Side is split into two categories:Secret Times and Tender Moments. Both options are like listening topodcast stories, with slight variations between them. Here, somememories will unlock audio storiesfor you to complete.
Secret Timesare stories you canlisten to, but not reador interact with. These are great to listen to when trying to relax or go to bed!Tender momentsare audio stories that you canread along with.
After you havecompleteda Secret Time or Tender Moment for thefirst time, your Affinity with that character will improve.
You willearn gemsfor completing a By Your Side event for the first time.
Update Your Profile To His Tastes
A small way you can increase Affinity is byupdating your handle in your Profileto use a prefix and suffix given to you by interacting with a character. For instance, as you progress through the main storyline, you willunlock prefixes or suffixesspecific to certain characters.
You canfilter through the name optionsby choosing the name of the character you want from the drop-down menu in the top right of the handle tab. Once you’ve selected and equipped a character-specific name in the name barfor the first time, you will earn Affinity.
Complete Events For The Characters
Occasionally, events will pop up for specific characters, such as on theirbirthdays or on holidayslike Valentine’s Day. During these events, you will have the opportunity tocomplete chapters and daily tasksthat will reward you with character-specific items as well as Affinity points.
Events may also come withspecial event Wish Pools. These pools will have event-specific,limited-edition memoriesto pull. Pulling, upgrading, and ranking these memories will increase Affinity.
What Does Affinity Give You?
As you increase your Affinity with each character, you will start tounlock more interactions, items, and photos. You can earn the following things as you level:
