Dungeonborne’sdungeon-crawling experience isn’t just limited to one character. Rather, players are free to choose from a variety of classes. The Rogue happens to be one of the characters that is ideal for Dungeonborne players who like to be sneaky.
With invisibility buffs and fast attacks, Rogues are the go-to pick for someone who’s focused on keeping things quiet while also having deadly attacks on their side. Additionally, this character also has passives that sync well with its active abilities, building synergized gameplay. However, there are certain things to take note of before playing Rogue as your main character.

Rogue’s Abilities
On the surface, Rogue is a character that is best picked when you’re looking to havefaster and stealthier gameplay than usual. By default, Dungeonborne can feel a bit slow due to heavy attacks and swords that take a while to swing. However, with the Rogue, you can mix up your playstyle a little and blend multiple styles of gameplay.
Before diving into that, it’s essential to understand how a Rogue’s abilities work. Their active abilities work in two ways.Firstly, it lets you petrify enemies, disabling them for a short while. The other ability lets you quickly vanish into thin air, making it extremely difficult for enemies to spot you.

Description
Petrifying Poison
For the next six seconds, you’re able to “petrify” an enemy, disabling them for ten seconds.
Vanish
For 15 seconds, become almost invisible. Enemies cannot see you until you start attacking them, and you’re able to move freely.
Evaporate
With 62 Dexterity, you automatically enter stealth mode after delivering the final hit to an enemy.
With 93 Dexterity, you move quicker when in stealth mode.
Ambush
With 29 Strength, you gain a short burst of life-steal the moment you deliver an attack that breaks your stealth mode.
Toxic Bolts
With 60 Strength, your Petrifying Poison ability can be used by Ranged Weapons.
Toxic Cloak
With 36 Stamina, you enter stealth mode after successfully “Petrifying” an enemy.
With two active and five passive abilities, a typical Rogue’s build consists of using attacks that disable the enemy while giving the player an advantage when it comes to fast movement and quiet presence.

When attacking normally,Petrifying Poison is going to be your Rogue’s most used ability, as it can disable some of the toughest monsters, like Skeleton Archers and Goblin Axemen.
On the flip side,Vanish can help you quickly get out of tricky situationsas it makes you invisible. While it’s tempting to keep using this over and over again, be mindful of which enemies you want to sneak past or get away from.

Rogue’s fast movement speed can work to your advantage, so be the first in the team to scout the Dungeon freely to check for hidden enemies.
How To Play Rogue
Before getting started, ensure you have healing itemsso you don’t have to worry about your health. Even the best Rogue players are prone to losing health, as the character is pretty vulnerable when not invisible, or not dodging around enemies. That being said, there are three things you should focus on when playing as Rogue:
Remember to alsouse the map’s verticality and hiding spots to your advantage. A Rogue best works in the shadows, and hiding behind corners can help you plan your next moves.
General Tips For Rogue
Even though you’ll likely want to keep attacking different enemies,it’s better to run away from a fight rather than risk your life. Rogues are great at getting out of tricky situations, and this should be used to your advantage. Once you’re away from the fight, take some time to heal up until you’re ready to fight again
Weapons And Gear
While a Rogue’s best friends are dual-wielded daggers, a Crossbow can be used for medium to long-range use as well. The best way to use it would be to first find a vantage point that’s away from enemies, and use Vanish if needed. Next, aim for weak spots to ensure that enemies take the most damage at a distance.
As mentioned earlier, Stamina and Dexterity are going to be the essential stats you want to focus on. Hence,we recommend using daggersas they are fast, reliable, and don’t use up much of your stamina.
On the flip side, if you wish to do more damage at the cost of slower attacks,dual-wielding swords can be a good choice. However, this will focus on Strength rather than Stamina, so choose wisely!
Additionally, certain consumables will help you build a better playstyle:
As for the gear, there are two items you should get from the Merchant if you’re not able to find it elsewhere:
There’s one item that’s not something that a Rogue would use normally, but if you’re keen on dealing damage that scatters over a certain area in the dungeon, try using the Incendiary Flask. It’s a throwable item thatcauses an explosion, bursting into flamesas it deals damage to multiple enemies. Additionally, it can also cleverlybe used as a barrierto keep you from other players in PvP situations. This may feel similar to using a Stoneshaping Flask.
