Ascendant.com, PlayFusion’s upcoming squad-based tactical FPS, is coming to an open beta near you. Between August 3rd and August 4th - which is to say, a Saturday and a Sunday - you can check out the “game-changing events” and adrenaline-fueled battles of this biopunk-themed shooter.
Since signing up for open betas and hopping into the action isn’t always as simple and straightforward as a quick download and a loading screen, we’ve written this primer on how to access Ascendant’s limited-time sneak preview. How To Join The Open Beta
There aretwo ways to join Ascendant’s open beta. Whichever route you go down, you’ll be suited up for what developer PlayFusion is calling’Beta Squad',which, as best we can tell, is little more than a cute name.
The first way to join is byaccessing Ascendant’s web pagefor the open beta,which you may find here.Once you’veclicked on the ‘Join Beta’ button, you’ll be asked to eithercreate an account through Googleor do so through an alternative venue.
Google’s how we went about it. We received aconfirmation emailletting us know we’re setfor the beta soon thereafter.
If you’re unable to click the orange button, but you’re within the sign-up time frame, it’s possible thatyou need to click accept or reject for the cookies pop-up.
This is that same window that has doubtless shown up for you in the past. In our experience,the screen was greyed-out and interactivity was disabledbefore we did this.
Alternatively, you canvisit Ascendant’s Steam page. As of this writing, the beta invite button is not yet live, butcheck back closer to August 3 if you’re reading this article too early to see it.
