Yinlin was undoubtedly the most anticipated character during the release ofWuthering Waves, and a lot of it was because of her design. She’s a five-star Electro character wielding a Rectifier as the weapon, and she uses her puppets to deal most of her damage while she sits there and looks cool.
Yinlin’s kit might be easy to understand, but there are still a few mechanics that you can easily miss out on. These mechanics might not make much difference in overworld exploration, but they’ll be the deciding factor in your endgame battles.

You Can Animation Cancel Some Attacks
Tower of Adversity is one of the main endgame modes in Wuthering Waves, and thetime you take to defeat all the enemies is critical here. In a situation like that, you’d want to save as much time as possible, andYinlin’s animation canceling mechanicslet you do just that if you can time them correctly.
You can essentiallyskip the animations for her special Heavy Attack and the second part of her Skill. To do this, simply trigger one of these abilities and then switch away from the character. This can be used when you have full Concerto Energy to trigger the Outro Skill a little faster than you normally would.

She’s Great For Overworld Exploration
When you first start playing or whenever a new update brings another region to the game, you’ll be spending a lot of time exploring the world. Even when you’re done with exploration, you have to consistently go around the world and farm echoes for various characters to get some decent stats on them.
Yinlin is one of the best characters to do this withsince she can deal consistent damage. You’ll regularly find enemies one after another while you’re going around the world, and it feels quite frustrating if you use a character who can only deal heavy damage for a certain amount of time.

Yinlin Performs Better Off-Field
While it might be true that Yinlin is great to play on-field while you’re exploring, the same cannot be said when you’re trying to beat a boss that’s way higher level than your characters. Yinlin’s damage is decent enough to work in the overworld, buther basic attacks don’t deal nearly enough damage for difficult bosses.
If you still want to use her as the main DPS, you can easilybuff these basic attacksbyusing someone like Sanhua.

Ideally, you’d want to use her alongside a secondary DPS who can deal a ton of damage off-field. Some of thebest candidates for this are Calcharo, Havoc Rover, and Encore. While you might be able to synergize with Calcharo perfectly, you’ll still end up getting more value from the other two.
You Can Apply Sinner’s Mask After Skill
When you read the description of Yinlin’s Resonance Skill, you might become a little confused about how it works. Essentially, this ability puts her in an Execution Mode where her basic attacks can trigger an Electromagnetic Blast, which instantly deals damage to all enemies with Sinner’s Mark up to four times.
However, while it might not be clear in the description, you canstill apply this mark on Yinlin after using the first instance of the Skill. Though it’s still better to apply it beforehand since you’d want as many enemies with this mark as possible before your Electromagnetic Blasts start triggering.

Resonance Skill And Liberation Are Her Main Source Of Damage
This tip goes along with the one where we mentioned that Yinlin performs a lot better off-field,but it has a little caveat of its own. Forte Circuit is a special part of every character’s kit in Wuthering Waves, but it usually doesn’t have its own damage type. Most attacks performed through a character’s Forte Circuit are considered as one of the other types.
However, the game hasn’t made that quite clear when it comes to Yinlin. After using your enhanced Heavy Attack, you get a buffed version of Sinner’s Markwhere you can deal even more damage to the enemies. While this does trigger through her Heavy Attack, the damage dealt by these are still considered as Resonance Skill DMG.
This means that apart from the special Heavy Attack, all your other main damage sources for Yinlin areeither the Resonance Skill or Liberation.
