TheSims 4: Lovestruck has everything your Sim needs to become SimNation’s greatest lover. With the introduction of the Romance Skill, love has become a level-able mechanic. As your Sim climbs the ranks to level ten Romance Skill, they will earn special perks, new interactions, and a reputation as SimNation’s Most Wanted (in love!).
As your Sims flirt, date, and serenade their way into romantic success, they will progress through the new Romance Skill. Your Sims can also teach the benefits of healthy relationship habits to their children, giving the child Sim a chance at becoming a Romantic Sage.
How To Start The Romance Skill
TheRomance Skillis one of the easiest and most naturally acquired skills your Sim can achieve. Your Sim will automatically gain the Romance Skill duringany romantic interactionthey have with another Sim.
To start the Romance Skill, you only need tohave your Sim flirt with another Sim. As their flirty banter grows more passionate, you will begin to see more and more options marked with anicon of a red heart in a bouquet. This icon indicates an action that willraise your Romance Skill.
It is important to note thatnot all interactionsthat raise the Romance Skill will bemarked with the heart bouqueticon. Some actions, likeasking another Sim to Woo-Hoowill also raise your Sim’s Romance Skill level.
All Romance Skill Level Rewards
For every level your Sim progresses in the Romance Skill, you willunlock new interactionsyou can have with other Sims.
These interactions willonly affect the Sim who is levelingtheir Romance Skill. You cannot access these unlocked interactions as any Sim other than the one who has unlocked them.

These interactions will alsocontribute to levelingthe Romance Skill. So, as your Sim reaches higher levels of the Romance skill, they will have more access to new interactions that can raise their Skill.
Some of these interactions, like ‘Steamy Make Out’, canonly be performed with a Romantic PartnerSim. This includes Sims who are ‘WooHoo’ partners.
Tips For Maxing The Romance Skill Quickly
There are a few ways your Sims can level their Romance Skill more quickly, and many of them are universal for other Skills.
Universal Methods
Like with any other Skill, your Sim canread Skill Booksand’Research' a Skillunder the computer’s ‘Web’ function, to improve their Skills.
If you have unlocked theSims 4: Discover Universitypack, your Sims can also use the phone toattend Skills classesfor passive skill leveling.
Another great way to increase the speed at which your Sims gain Skill levels is to make sure they arefrequently ‘In The Mood’ when performing interactions associated with the target Skill. So, to have better luck leveling your Sim’s Romance Skill, you want your Sim to be in aFlirty Mood.
Listening to romantic radio stations, watching romantic television, reading romance novels, and looking at flirty art are all great ways to get your Sim in the mood for romance.

Try toavoid traits like Shy or Noncommittal, as they will prevent your Sim from effectively leveling the Romance Skill.
Go On Personalized Dates
Another great way to level your Sims' Romance Skill more effectively is toplan their datesaround Romance-oriented tasks. To do this, select a Sim you want your Sim to romance and choose the option ‘Ask To Create Date.’ From here, you can customize date goals.

TheRomantic Sage Traitlets your Sim ‘Self Soothe’ which will reduce negative romance buffs by40 percent. Simply put, they won’t feel as down about being rejected by a love interest or after embarrassing themselves around a crush.
Sims who experiencefewer Romantic aversionsor negative experiences with Romance aremore likelyto level their Romance Skill more quickly. When Sims associate a Skill withpositive moodlets, they can ‘like’ that Skill and will level up quicker.
To get the Romantic Sage Trait, your Simhas to be taughtabout living their life with love at the center. They can either learn from a parent’s teachings or through life lessons as they age.
The Romantic Sage Trait can be earned when achild Sim has been ‘Educated on Positive Romance Dynamics’several times growing up. If the child Sim has endured enough life lessons about love, they willearn the Romantic Sage Traitupon aging into a teenager.
Have your parent Sim frequently educate their child on positive relationship dynamics by using the ‘Educated on Positive Romance Dynamics’as many times as you have patience.
Adult Simscan also earn the Romantic Sage Trait. If your Sim has enoughexperience understanding how relationships workor what their partner’s boundaries are, they can develop the Romantic Sage Trait.
To gain the Romantic Sage Traitas an adult Sim, your Sim shouldfrequently check inwith their romantic partner about the health of their relationship or their boundaries.‘Discussing Healthy Relationships’is a great way to send your Sim on the path to becoming a Romantic Sage.
You can alsouse cheatsto give your Sim the Romantic Sage Trait. Enter thecheats radialon your Sim (Shift-clickon a PC) and select the’Change Sim Traits’option. From here, you can find the trait you would like to give your Sim and apply it permanently. You can likewiseremove a traitin the same way.
