The Star Wars galaxy has always been flush with unique alien lifeforms. While there’s no shortage of grotesque monsters, the franchise is also home to many cute species that we’d love to have as pets (and we can after they’re inevitably turned into plushies).
Star Wars Outlawscontinues the series tradition of introducing lovable costars with Nix, a quadrapedal Merqaal that resembles a scaly dog with tendrils for ears. Not only will he join you on your interplanetary adventure, but you can actually perform actions that make him happy and deepen the bond you two share. Completing a handful of these tasks will not only warm your heart, but also help advance Kay’s progression.
How To Make Nix Happy
In order tounlock the Treasure Hunter abilityfrom The Mechanic’s skill tree (allowing Nix tohighlight containers in the environment), you’ll need to find ways to make your furry friend happy. Luckily,you have a variety of options, all of which can be done rather easily.
Use The Boost On Your Speeder Bike
After earning the boost for your speeder bike(you get it bycompleting The Mechanic quest), you’ll be able to traverse the world even faster.Nix is a little speed demonand will hold on to the back of the bike as you rocket across the landscape,smiling the whole way. You can evenlaunch yourself off rampsto catch serious air!
You’ll know that you’ve made progress toward Treasure Hunter whenyou get a pop-up in the corner of your screen, counting how many unique ways you’ve found to make Nix happy.
Swing With Your Grappling Hook
Outlaws hasa myriad of ways for Kay to navigate her surroundings, andone of them is her grappling hook. As you begin to swing across a gap,Nix will hop on your back. Heenjoys the ridebefore leaping off of you on the other side, letting youmove on to the next activity.
Trigger An Explosion
Nix is a mischievous creature, loving to cause trouble. Thankfully,you may use this to your advantagewhen encountering enemies, or whenever you want for personal amusement. If you see an explosive red barrel,hold the Left Bumperto activate control of Nix.Select the explosive, and he’ll run over to it. Aftermashing the Left Bumper a few times, Nix will blow it up,satisfied with the chaos he has created.
Enjoy A Tasty Meal
As you travel to various planets, Kay and Nix willcome across food vendors.Stopping for some grub delights Nix, and purchasing a mealtreats you to a QTE sequencewhere your main characterschow down on alien cuisine. Pay attention to which dishes are available;they can grant buffs to Nix’s abilities!
Give Him A Pet
Of course,the easiest way to make Nix happyis just togive him a pet! you may do this byholding the Left Bumperto control Nix. If you look directly at him,you’ll be given a prompt to pet, letting you show your companion some love.
Youonly need to find four ways to make Nix happywhen working towards the Treasure Hunter ability, butall five of these methods can be used.
