Money - or rather, Lucre - is as important a resource inVisions of Manaas it was in any previous series entry. You’ll need it for weapons, armor, and items. Granted, that’s not a long list, but it’s pretty easy to deplete your stock of MP-restoring Faerie Acorns, and weapon prices start to skyrocket later on.
There are a handful of key ways to ensure you always have ample cash on-hand. So long as you stick with these tips at least some of the time, you should never have any budget issues rearing their ugly heads when you least expect them.

Time Your Fortuneflies
Fortunefliesare to Lucre what Valorflies are to EXP. Which is to say,Fortuneflies double your money gains from battle for one minute, while Valorflies double your EXP from them. Both respawn eventually - possibly from loading out and then back into a zone.
Clearly, it’s beneficial to take advantage of Fortuneflies and Valorflies whenever possible. Butmake sure you know the locations of a few nearby enemy groups before interacting with oneso that you don’t waste too much time running around. Trust us, it happens.

Don’t let the ticking timer dissuade you from starting another fight right before the minute’s up. So long as you enter a fight withat least one second on the clock, it’ll hold until you’ve won.
Find Lil Cactus
The lovable returning mascot,Lil Cactus, has gone andcleverly hidden himself in each of a whopping 38 areas. That meansmost of Visions of Mana’s maps have Lil Cactus in them.
Not only do you get to read cute diary pages every time you find him, butat every fifth discovery, you gain a new reward. Two of these involveshop price reductions, which will have a major effect on how much cash you’re throwing down at any given time.

We’ll have a guide on where to find Lil Cactus shortly, and we’ll link it here once we do!
Light Incense
Ample Incense, which can befound while exploringas well aspurchased in limited quantities from Dudbear shops, increases the amount of Lucre earned in battles byten percent for ten minutes.
Rich Incense, which is a bit rarer, butalso purchasable at Dudbear shopsonce they’ve reached a third-chapter story upgrade, increases Lucre bytwenty percent for ten minutes.
Make lighting incense a regular part of your routinewhenever you’re expecting multiple battles, or evenright before a boss fight, and your finances should spike sharply.
