As you progress through the seasons and story ofEverafter Falls, you’ll have to do some dungeon exploring. At first, it’s not going to be too difficult, but eventually the monsters – and bosses – are going to get stronger, and you’ll need more than a good sword to be ready for them.
There’s no leveling system in this game, and while some NPCs do give you some helpful accessories, you’ll generally want even more than what they offer. If you want to be ready for all the Rune Dungeons have to offer, you had better ensure you’ve got some high stats.
How To Unlock The Rune Dungeons
There aretwo main waysto increase your stats:equipping different accessorieslike Rings and Amulets, and byusing special stat boosting itemsgiven to you by Pookies, and both of these are generally going to come from the same source: therune dungeon on Everafter Falls.
The first dungeon you’ll unlock is the Eve Dungeon, and the quest for this begins byapproaching the Portal in the small northwestern island, and a largerainbow Pixie will give you the first runeand activate the quest, The Cursed Eve Rune.
Find Dawn at her shopor around town, andshow her the Cursed Eve Rune, then you’ll need tofind Tobias, the Museum curator. He’ll generallybe at the Museum for most of the day, but he can alsobe found around townor sitting on thebenches outside the museum.
Thefirst Moonfloweryou getcomes from this quest, but the rest will come from theMoonflower plant, which bloomsonce per seasonnear the end of the month.
Speak to Tobias, and he’ll hand it to you, then all you’ve got to do isbring the Moonflower and the Cursed Eve Rune back to Dawn, and she’llbegin the purification process, which takesone in-game dayto complete.
Grab the purified rune from yourmailbox the next morning, thentake it to the Portalandplace it in the lower left pillarto open up the Eve Rune dungeon to explore.
How To Increase Your Stats
Inside any of the dungeons, you’ll need todefeat enemies to unlock the next roomand move forward, plus plenty ofresources to mineup in each room, butsome of the rooms are special:
How To Gain Stats Boosts Via Accessories
With the Treasure Rooms, the chests you open have achance to drop one of two accessorytypesfrom them –rings or amulets– and depending on thetype of ring and its modifiers, they can give you all sorts of stat boost combinations.
Accessories can also beobtained by defeating minibossesand thefinal boss of each Rune Dungeon, and they tend to drop higher rarity ones.
For example, theSuperior Ring of Swiftnessgives youplus six Attack Speedandplus three Movement Speed, and it and others willoften have an Orb slotas well, which cangive additional stat boostswhen they’re attached to the accessory.
You canattach Orbs to accessoriesby having both in your inventory, unquipped, thenselecting and dragging the Orb onto the accessory. It willgive you a prompt about attachment, and then once attached, it’ll give you its stats.
How To Obtain Permanent Stat Boosts
While bonuses from accessories are essentially permanent, unless you remove the accessory, thetrue permanent upgrades come from Pooklets. When youfind a Pooklet Roomin a dungeon, you’ll need tokill all the enemies in the roomlike usual before you’re able to rescue the Pooklet.
Once the Pooklet is free, they’ll speak with you andgive you a choicebetween one of the three stat-boosting potionsit will offer, which come intwo different, randomly chosen sets: a set containing ones for HP, Attack Power, and Movement Speed, or aset of three different amuletsthat tend to be of a higher rarity.

After they’re gone, just pick up the potion they dropped and then consume it like you would another, and you’ll get one of the permanent stat boosts on offer.
Pooklets willgive you a kiss that restores you to full healthbefore they disappear, so they can give you a much needed heal in a pinch.
