Unlike most other dungeons, Darklight Catacombs hides away the Abyssal Woods area of the DLC’s map, which isn’t accessible otherwise. Getting to the Catacombs itself is a tricky task. However, you can reach this dungeon right after getting access to Shadow Keep in Scadu Atlas and get your hands on all the noteworthy items, Talismans, and equipment.

How To Reach Darklight Catacombs
The Darklight Catacombs can be reached after you’ve defeatedRellana, Twin Moon Knight, and gained access to theScadu Atlas region. After that, you’ll have tomake your way to the Shadow Keep’s Main Entrance. Face the Golden Hippopotamus and defeat it to progress further.
After defeating the Golden Hippopotamus, make your way toward the door on the left and keep moving ahead until you come across a large hall with two Black Knights. Go through the room, through a door on the left, and you will reach alarge open area with boat-like structures.

Be wary of the Vulgar Militiamen hiding behind the boat-like structures.
Move straight ahead toward the other end of the area, and you’ll come across a ladder. Head down, and go left. You’ll see another ladder here leading downwards. Go down, and you’ll reach a room with a painting. There’s anillusory wallhere leading to theCastle Watering Hole Site of Grace.

There will be a Furnace Golem right ahead of the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace, butkeep moving toward the southeast for a long while, and you’ll eventually come across the dungeon’s entrance.
ensure you’re carrying a Lantern or a Torch as you head into this dungeon, as it will make things a lot easier by lighting your way.

One of them is patrolling across the stairs in the room, and the other one is hiding to your right. Kill them both and move downstairs, but be wary of aBig Mouth Imp to your right. Here, before you progress to the pathway on your right as you move downstairs, be sure to move back to the tunnel right under the ledge and pull the lever, as it will light up the current layer.

Now, get back to where you killed the Big Mouth Imp and progress ahead. Here, you’ll come acrossa fence to your left. Jump over the fence, and you’ll land on a ledge.Head straight to where the ledge is slightly brokenand carefully fall from there. You’ll land in a room where you’ll find theViridian Amber Medallion +3, a Talisman that raises your total stamina.

You’ll drop down on a ledge below, and there, you’ll find an Imp clinging to the roof and a Putrescence Sorcererstanding in the corner of the room.

Darklight Catacombs: Third Layer Walkthrough
After you reach the third layer and move ahead, you’llfind a huge Big Mouth Imp sitting on an elevated platform. It’ll begin shooting you right as you move downstairs. Avoid killing it right away with ranged attacks, because if you do so, the item it drops might become inaccessible.
If you kill the large Big Mouth Imp before getting the platform down, the item will get stuck there, even if you pull the lever afterward. Dying anywhere will cause the Imp to respawn on the now-lowered platform, and you may kill it again to get the item.
Dodge its attacks, run towards the path on your left, and you’ll reach a lever at the end of the path. Activating the lever will bring down the large Big Mouth Imp’s platform while lighting up the layer.
Once the platform is down, you can kill the large Big Mouth Imp andclaim the Great Ghost Glovewort item. Drop down the platform onto the small bridge. There will be a chest ahead with Big Mouth Imp Ashes. After picking up the item, go up on the ladder in the room and progress ahead.
Drop down on the stairs from here, and continue going downstairs. You’ll find an Imp here; kill it. Continue downstairs, andyou’ll come across a liftleading down to the boss arena.
How To Beat Jori, Elder Inquisitor
Jori, Elder Inquisitoris a unique boss that you’ll find in Darklight Catacombs. Jori focuses heavily onlong-range Incantations and Spirit Summons. The boss will teleport to a random location in the arena if it takes too much damage.
Jori isweak to Fireand is alsovulnerable to Sleepand other status effects, except Madness. You can use this boss arena to your advantage. There are plenty of gravestones here that can be used to block Jori’s projectile attacks.
If you’ve been staying in one place for too long,Jori may repeatedly cast the Spira Incantation, which activates under your feet after a short delay, dealing considerable damage. When this happens, it’s best to just run toward him and backstab him as he’s casting the spell, which will also interrupt his Incantation.
Once Jori is left with 60 percent of his health, he’ll start summoning several spirits that will make it difficult for you to approach the boss. Killing the spirits isn’t worth it, as they have fairly high HP, and the boss will just summon them again shortly afterward. It’s better to justdodge and wait for the spiritsto go away by themselves.
Defeating Jori, Elder Inquisitor, rewards the player with theBarbed Staff-Spear and 260,000 runes. The weapon comes with a unique Ash of War called Jori’s Inquisition. The Ash of War causes you to shoot multiple arcs, and if you hold down the Weapon Skill button, the weapon will continue to shoot out arcs until you run out of FP.
The Barbed Staff-Spearscales of Strength, Dexterity, and Faith. The weapon deals Physical and Holy Damage and also causes Bleed build-up on the enemy upon melee attacks.
