Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreefeatures many new weapon skills or Ashes of War that can be infused with your weapon to give you an edge in battle. Some of these Ashes of War are extremely easy to miss out on if you’re not exploring every corner of the Land of Shadow.
The Carian Sovereignty Ash of War is a weaker version of the same weapon skill that Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, uses during her boss fight, where she conjures a magical great sword and then unleashes a downward slash, followed by a full circular sweep. If you’re using an INT build, this Ash of War is a must-have and could make all your battles a lot easier.
How To Find Carian Sovereignty
TheAsh of War: Carian Sovereigntycan be found in a cave towards the west of theCathedral of Manus Metyr. To get to this cave, you’ll have to start from theChurch District Highroad Site of Graceand head west.
Keep going west until you come across a pathleading south right alongside the cliff. You’ll encounter a lot of wolves along the way, but you won’t have to worry about them if you are on horseback.
Once you’re inside the cave, you’llfind a Scarabsticking to the cave’s ceiling. Killing the Scarab will reward you with the Carian Sovereignty Ash of War.
If you fail to kill the Scarab and it manages to disappear, you’ll have to rest at the Site of Grace and then try again.
If you haven’t unlocked theChurch District Highroad Site of Graceor the entire northeast area of Scadu Altus, you’ll have to head to the Moorth Ruins and drop down the hole from there. Once you’ve dropped down the hole, you’ll have to progress a little, and then you will resurface at Bonny Village. From there, you can access thenortheast area of Scadu Altuseasily.
How To Use The Carian Sovereignty Ash Of War
The Carian Sovereignty Ash of War can be applied to any type of sword, includingdaggers, katanas, and twinblades, but cannot be applied to colossal weapons. The Ash of War allows several types of infusions, but you should go for themagic infusionto get the maximum damage output from the weapon skill.
The Ash of War can be charged, which also increases the damage to the follow-up sweep. To do the follow-up attack, you’ll have to press theweapon skill buttonagain after your character has unleashed the initial attack.
You can further boost the damage output of the weapon skill by usingAlexandar’s Shard, Godfrey Icon, and any other Talismanthat boosts Magic Damage, such as theMagic Scorpion Charm Talisman.
