The helmet slot inPath of Exileis an excellent source of Eldritch Implicits, defensive layers, and even something basic like HP, resistances, etc. This is why when you think about using a unique helmet, you need to make sure that it is worth it. With over 50 unique helmets to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming to land on the right one.
It should not come as a surprise, but not one helmet can fit all builds. The meta in PoE is always evolving, but there are some Unique Helmets that have passed the test of time and have always found a place in the meta.

Kitava’s Thirst
Kitava’s Thirst rose to popularity with the recent changes to Archmage Support introduced in the Necropolis league. While it does not provide much in terms of stats,it is a huge QOL upgrade if you do not like the two-button playstyle of certain buildslike VD-Unearth, Mana stackers, etc.
It does this bygiving you a 50 percent chance to trigger socketed spells when you spend at least 100 Manaon a single cast. This means that you will need to find a way to increase the Mana cost of your spells to 100 or above, or it will not work. Other than that, you will get some Mana, some Energy Shield, and Armor.

It also reduces your Cast Speed by 15 percent, which is something you will need to get somewhere else.
It is a tier-4 uniquethat can drop anywhere. Here are some other ways you can acquire it:

Sandstorm Visage
Even after the nerfs, rushing Sanctumis one of the most lucrative ways to farm currencyin Path of Exile. And while there are a few builds that can do it, the Hexblast Mines build is probably the easiest one to set up. Regardless of your Ascendency choice,Sandstorm Visage is used in every iteration of the build— unless you can afford a Mirror-tier rare helmet.
This is because itmakes the base Critical Strike Chance of your spells equal to that of your Main Hand weapon. Hexblast only has a Critical Strike Chance of four, which means using something like a crafted Prophecy Wand or even a Void Battery will essentially triple it. This is incredibly powerful if you need to rush Sanctum or even do Uber Bosses.

Here is how you can acquire Sandstorm Visage:
Heatshiver
Heatshiver has received several nerfs over the past few leagues. However, despite the nerfs,it is still one of the best unique helmets in the game. Whether you are playingFrostblades,Penance Brand,Lightning Strike,or Spark, you cannot go wrong with Heatshiver.
The helmet provides you with a lot of Cold Damage as extra Fire Damageas long as you can find a way to reliably chill/freeze enemies. Aside from this, it provides you with a couple of resistances and a good amount of Evasion.

It is a Tier-3 uniquethat can drop anywhere. Some additional ways to get it are:
Crown Of The Inward Eye
When it comes tounique helmets that offer a lot of value, the Crown of the Inward Eye is second to none. Even without any fancy corruptions, it provides a lot of HP, Mana, Energy Shield, and damage. And since it is so versatile, you’re able to use it in a number of builds, such asLocus Mines,Cast on Crit.,Penance Brand,Arc,and Forbidden Riteamong many others.
Crown of the Inward Eye is a drop from Sirus, Awakener of the Worlds— one of the Pinnacle bosses in PoE. And since it is a fairly common drop, it should not be too expensive on the trade website. This also means that it can be a pain to acquire in Solo Self-Found, but it is definitely worth it.

Crown Of Eyes
With the recent melee buffs and a Transfigured version, it was only a matter of time before Molten Strike (or Molten Strike of the Zenith, to be exact) made a resurgence.Crown of Eyes paired with Iron Will and The Iron Fortress is insane damagethat can do all content in the game easily. We have seen some Lightning Strike builds using it as well, so experiment away!
You will have tofind something to deal with -30 percent Fire Resistance, but it should not be an issue since you may alwayshelp Alirauntil you can get it somewhere.

It is a Tier-3 uniquethat can drop anywhere in the game. You can also get it via:
Abyssus
A good number ofmelee builds in Path of Exile are incomplete without Abyssus. This uniquegives you some Attributes,a lot of flat Physical Damage,a huge Critical Strike Multiplier for melee, and increased Armor. It can be a bitrisky to use it in Hardcore since it increases the amount of Physical Damage you take by almost 50 percent, but there are ways to mitigate that. For instance, you can convert a portion of Physical Damage received into non-Phys., but it can still be a dangerous plan.
Since it is also a Tier-3 unique, it can drop anywhere in the game. Some of the ways to get it are:
Geofri’s Crest
If you like playing Holy Relic, Geofri’s Crest is the only helmet you will ever need, because it is theonly source of getting an additional Holy Relic in your build. But even if you do not want to play Holy Relic, it is still an incredible unique as it provides about30 percent to all resistances in the game, and that includes Chaos Resistanceas well. Moreover, it also grants a lot of Armor and Energy Shield, which is never a bad thing.
Geofri’s Crest is a Tier-4 unique, making it super cheap atany point in the league. It is also a fairly common drop, so you will see it even if you are in Solo Self-Found. Here is how you can get it:
