Dragon communion returns inElden Ring’sShadow of the Erdtreewith a new NPC. The Dragon Communion Priestess provides a very stark showcase of the power of dragonkind and has a special request for you upon your first meeting. Depending on how you handle that request, you could wind up with a dragon priestess of your very own.
But like almost every quest in Elden Ring, the Dragon Communion Priestess doesn’t exactly provide you with a step-by-step on how to accomplish her whims. That’s why this guide is here to tell you what to do before speaking to her, when to kill Bayle, and what you’ll get depending on the steps you take.
Finding The Dragon Communion Priestess
To start the quest, you’ll have to find the Dragon Communion Priestess. Luckily, she’s not too hard to find. She’ll be at theGrand Altar of Dragon Communionright next to the nearby site of grace of the same name.
To get the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion,start from the Dragon’s Pit Terminus site of grace and then take a rightat the form where you fight the Jagged Peak Drake. If you need some pointers,we’ve got a guide to give you a few pointers.
Talk to her and she’ll give you some of her background. Turns outshe’s a priestess of Placidusax, and because her god has beef with Bayle the Dread, she’d love it if you could kill that angry dragon at the top of Jagged Peak.
She’ll also give you theAncient Dragon’s Blessingif you agree to partake. This item costs some FP but provides 15 percent damage negation for 70 seconds. After using it, return to the Dragon Communion Priestess to obtain another for free.
Ultimately,completing her quest will necessitate killing Bayle. However, there are two different sets of potential rewards depending on what you do beforehand. One set of rewards is easy to obtain and hints at the Dragon Communion Priestess’ true identity, while the other set is harder to get but reveals more of Elden Ring’s lore.
Getting one set of rewards will lock you out of obtaining the other set, so be sure to carefully consider what you want before embarking on this quest.
How To Get The Priestess Heart And Flowerstone Gavel
The simplest and easiest way to complete the Dragon Communion Priestess Quest is to just go up to the top of Jagged Peak andkill Bayle. Upon yourreturn, the Priestess will have disappeared, leaving behind a weapon and her heart.
TheFlowerstone Gavelis an excellent hammer for Arcane-focused builds. Its unique skill, Flower Dragonbolt, reduces enemy lightning defense by 12 percent for 20 seconds, making it perfect for spamming.
ThePriestess Heartitem is even more impressive,turning the player’s character into a dragon-human hybrid. In this form, it boosts your Dragon Cult Incantations and provides a 10 percent reduction in damage.
The Priestess Heart is the Dragon Cult version of theRock Heart, which you can obtain by completing theDragon Incursion Painting puzzle.

How To Get The Dragonbolt Of Florissax And Ancient Dragon Florrisax Summon
To getthe other set of rewards from the Dragon Priestess requires putting her to sleep—something that’s apparently hard to do. Giving her some shuteye requires interacting with a few other NPCs and a bit of trickery.
First, you’ll need toobtainThiollier’s Concoction. This can be obtained fairly early on in Shadow of the Erdtree by first meetingThiollierat the Pillar Path Cross site of grace.
Speak to him and he’ll tell you he’s expecting something from Moore, another of Miquella’s followers. Gospeak to Moore at the Main Gate Cross site of graceto receive theBlack Syrup, and thentake the Syrup to Thiollierto turn into Thiollier’s Concoction.
You must obtain Thiollier’s concoction before Moore leaves the Main Gate Cross site of grace(this happens after receiving the message “a great rune has broken”). If you don’t, Moore won’t be able to give you the syrup.
Thiollier will give you a clue as to its use by sayingit could even put an ancient dragon to sleep. You’re going to put that to the test.
Do not drink Thiollier’s Concoction; it will kill you. If you do drink it, return to Thiollier to buy another one for 30,000 Runes.
Return to the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion at nightto witness the Dragon Communion Priestess communing with Placidusax (if it’s not night, just use the nearby site of grace to change the time and reload the area). While she’s communing, go up andinteract with her to administer Thiollier’s Concoction.
With the concoction administered, the Dragon Communion Priestess will collapse into a deep slumber.She won’t wake for a full in-game day, so feel free to run around the Land of Shadow completing other quests before returning to the sleepy priestess.
After a full day,return to the Dragon Communion Priestess to find her awakebut sad that she’d somehow succumbed to sleep. Now after defeating Bayle, she’ll be happy you did her lord’s bidding, but will be upset that she can no longer commune with Placidusax because she fell asleep (which is apparently a faux pas in the dragon world).
Tell her that it was you who made her fall asleepand severed her connection with Placidusax. Her solution to losing her old lord is to make you her new lord. This will provide you withDragonbolt Florissaxand theAncient Dragon Florissaxspirit ashes.
This ending of the questreveals the Dragon Communion Priestess to be Florissax, the ancient dragon who taught dragon communion to the Lands Between.
To Summarize
WithFlorissax now at your side(spiritually speaking), her quest is complete, and you can now proceed on your quest to become the Elden Lord.
