It’s time forPokemon Go’snext Ultra Unlock event, a set of events that have been unlocked by the game’s community through their efforts. This event will be theStrength of Steel Event,centered around different Steel-type Pokemon and various accompanying bonuses and features.
Similar to many other Pokemon Go events, the Strength of Steel Event will take place over the course of about a week, active fromThursday, May 30, 2025, at 10am local time to Tuesday, July 19, 2025, at 8pm local time. Read on to learn more about this new Pokemon Go event, including event information and tips on how to make the most of it.

Pokemon Go Debut: Shiny Togedemaru
The Strength of Steel Event will mark thedebut of Shiny Togedemaru in Pokemon Go, previously unavailable and unobtainable within this specific game. Throughout this event, you will have the opportunity to encounter Togedemaru as awild encounter, One-Star Raid Pokemon, and research reward.
Make sure to take advantage of Togedemaru’s availability during this event.

This Pokemon is relatively rare to come across outside of events like this.
Event Bonuses
There will befour different in-game bonusesactive during the Strength of Steel Event, all having to do with catching different Pokemon. Each of these four event bonuses can be found below.
Event Wild Encounter Pokemon
During the Strength of Steel Event, there will beseveral Steel-type Pokemon appearing in the wild,in addition to a few Pokemon of other types, fitting the specific theme of this event. We have provided each of these 14 event-themed wild encounter Pokemon for you below.

Event Raid Pokemon
you’re able to expect to finddifferent event-themed Pokemon in Raidsduring this event, all being Steel-type Pokemon. These different event Raid Pokemon will be found in bothOne-Star and Three-Star Raidsduring this event window, each found below with the specific Raid tier that they will be defending.
Event Research
Timed Research
All players will be granted access tofree event-themed Timed Research.Completing the tasks for this Timed Research will reward you with:
Field Research Task Encounters
Collect differentEvent Field Research Tasks byspinning different PokeStopsin your area during the Strength of Steel Event. Completing some of these tasks will reward you with event-themed Pokemon encounters, giving you the opportunity to catch one of the following Pokemon.
Additionally, other Event Field Research Tasks will reward you withMega Energy for specific Pokemon, theresource needed to Mega Evolve different Pokemonin Pokemon Go. This includes Mega Energy for eitherSteelix, Scizor, or Aggron.

Collection Challenges
There will be differentEvent Collection Challengesto complete during this event, tasking you with catching and evolving specific event-themed Pokemon. Completing the Collection Challenges for this event will provide you withStardust and Mega Energy for different Steel-type Pokemon.
