It’s been a little while since we last got to enjoy a nice treasure hunting event inMonopoly Go, but Sofia is back again from9AM EST on August 8and will be flying through the desert hunting for dinosaur-themed treasures until4PM EST on August 12.
There are 25 milestones to hit during the Dino Treasures event in Monopoly Go, several of which prominently feature thicker rocks or tiny treasures to hunt down in a large grid of sand. Hopefully you’ll hit a few moles along the way, since they’re able to clear a whole row or column instantly!

Collect Pickaxes To Play Dino Treasures
As always with the treasure hunting events in Monopoly Go, Dino Treasures isn’t about where you land around the board - it’s all aboutearning pickaxes from other eventsthat you can then take out to the desert with you to dig during the Dino Treasures event. For the most part, those pickaxes will beprizes in tournaments and other events.
The Jurassic Journey eventhas already begun at the center of your screen, and we’ll also have a second center-screen event as well asnumerous daily tournamentsrunning each day throughout the event to offer extra chances to earn more pickaxes.

The boards start off relatively small, with only a four-by-four grid to start off with on the first level, but the final level of Dino Treasures is on an eight-by-seven grid, with plenty of irksome levels in between. Some ask you to find small tokens on large boards like needles in haystacks, while others hide large items beneath extra-tough rocks. Keep playing other Monopoly Go events throughout the weekend to ensure you’re earning plenty of pickaxes for Dino Treasures - you’ll need them!
Like the last treasure-hunt event, though, you’ll find yourself coming across several boards withrocks that require multiple hits to break, unlike the regular sand tiles that only need one. This will take up extra pickaxes, so be sure you need to hit that stronger rock before sacrificing the pickaxes for it - nothing is worse than wasting them only to realize there was nothing underneath!

Returning, thankfully, are thehidden mole excavatorsyou might find in occasional spots around the grid of sand you’re digging in, and it’s always a big help when you do. These little buddies canclear multiple tiles around them, either invertical columns, horizontal rows, or even the occasionaleight tiles immediately surrounding themselves.
Hopefully, you find a good few of them, and they help make progress through the25 milestoneswe’ve got in Dino Treasures this weekend. The biggest prizes in the mix are anew board tokenof a pretty cool dino skull, though it is a bit tough to obtain by completingmilestone 20.
