Path of Exilehas many different mechanics for you to keep track of, as well as some limited-time mechanics that are part of the seasonal leagues that occur in the game every few months. One part of the game that may leave you a bit stumped at first is Divination Cards.

What Are Divination Cards?
Divination cards are like thePath of Exile version of Tarot cards. There are a whopping446 Divination cards in the game,with each one needing to be stacked to form a complete set. Thenumber in each set can be seen on the left-hand side of the card.
For example, the Rain of Chaos set will need eight cards. In the image above,we only have six of these cards, so it’s not quite complete.
How To Get Divination Cards
Divination cards drop much like every other item in the game. When killing enemies or looting containers, you will have achance to obtain a Divination card.So, if you are looking to farm Divination cards, your best bet is to just run through maps.
As mentioned above, there are a lot of cards. Rather than having an equal chance to find all of them,each card can be found in specific areas.For example,the Death card can be found in Abomination and Marshes maps.
These are not map locations found throughout the campaign. When we say ‘run through maps’,we mean the items that open portals to unique map locations.For example, the Marshes map will, as expected, take you to a marshy area. Here, you’re able to find four types of Divination cards.
What To Do With Divination Cards
One Divination card may not be too helpful, but when you have a complete set,you will be able to trade them in for the item listed on the front.Sometimes, this can be a specific item or currency, like a weapon or a Chaos Orb, but sometimes, it’s a little more random.
For example, the Emperor’s Luck Divination card shown above needsfive cards to be a complete set.Once you have all five cards,you may trade them in for “5x Currency”.This reward is drawn from a pool of currencies in the game. You may getsomething rare like a Regal Orb,but you may alsojust get an Orb of Transmutation.
Where To Exchange Divination Cards
You will be able to exchange Divination cards with eitherTasuni in HighgateorLilly Roth, once she has been added to your hideout.
Highgate is the main settlement of Act Four. You’ll be able tospeak with Tasuni here first before trading with Lilly Roth,making him the NPC to speak with if you are looking to do some early-game trading.
To trade with Lilly Roth in your hideout, you will first need tocomplete the quest Fallen from Grace, which is a quest found in Act Six.After this has been completed, Lilly can be placed in your hideout. Here, she willalso sell gems.
Tips For Obtaining Divination Cards
There is no sure way to obtain the Divination card that you want, and with 446 options out there, you may obtain a card that has a less-than-satisfying reward. For example,the Loyalty card set can be exchanged for three Orbs of Fusing.While this is better than no reward,you’re able to also just buy this item.
If you are farming for Divination cards on maps, then you canuse Maven’s Chisel of Divination to increase the quality of Divination cards found.This item can be used directly on a map in your inventory, but to get it, you will need toeither defeat Maven-witnessed bosses or complete a Maven’s Invitation quest.
Can You Trade Divination Cards?
Yes,you can trade Divination cards with other players(if you are not playing on Solo Self-Found). As with all trades, you will need to have the requested material to go through with the trade. If you are new to trading in Path of Exile, you can dosofrom the game’s official website.
