Every challenge league inPath of Exilebrings new materials for you to farm, and Settlers of Kalguur is no exception. In this seasonal challenge league, you’ll be tasked with building the city of Kingsmarch, which requires a lot of materials, time, and workers.
The first important resource that you will come across while building Kingsmarch is Crimson Ore. Rather than directly mining it yourself, you will essentially mark locations on the map for workers to gather. In this guide, we will take a look at how to get Crimson Ore for the first time, as well as how to farm it.

How To Mine Crimson Ore
We highly suggestheading to Kingsmarch and speaking with Johan, who is an essential NPC in relation to the Settlers of Kalgur league! Fortunately, you canfind him as early as Act One.
As mentioned above, you will not mine Crimson Ore yourself. When you find this ore in the world, you will first need tointeract with the center part.Doing so will cause thesurrounding Corrupted Growths to open.

These growths willcontinue to spawn enemies.Instead of killing the enemies, you will need totake out the Corrupted Growth. If you don’t, it will keep spawning more enemies and can quickly become very overwhelming.
Once every growth has been destroyed, markers will appear around the center of the Crimson Ore.If you have workers in Kingsmarch, thena portal will also open with one of them coming to mine the ore.If you don’t have this yet, don’t worry! We’ll go over this next.

How To Gather Crimson Ore With Miners
From the town overview menu, you will be able tosee how much ore you have, as well as how much ore has been marked. This refers to Crimson Ore veins that you cleared on maps, but workers haven’t mined yet.
If you have no workers, the Crimson Ore can’t actually be gathered. So, you will first need tohead to Kingsmarch, build your mine, and hire some workers. If you have yet to build your mine, be sure to head to Kingsmarch anyway andinteract with the area found on the west side of town.By spending some gold, you can build a simple mine.
With a mine set up, you will still need tohire some workers. This can be done byspeaking to Raulf, who is in the central tavern. When talking to Raulf, you can choose from a variety of workers on a page, but this can be refreshed to show more.
After hiring a worker to mine for you, don’t forget tohead back to the mining area and interact with the board. Here, you may assign workers to mine specific materials. At this point, you can assign one worker to mine Crimson Ore for you. From here, you just need towait until the ore has been mined.
The Crimson Ore will immediately go into your town’s inventory when it’s been mined. If you have workers that are set up to smelt, then the ore will then be used for that.
Your workers willonly mine if there are enough funds in Kingsmarch(it’s how they get paid). As such, be sure toput money in your town’s treasury.
How To Farm Crimson Ore
With your mine and workers set, it’s time to get farming! On any map, you will have a chance to find Crimson Ore surrounded by Corrupted Growths. The location, much like everything else in Path of Exile, israndom. This means thatyou will need to search around the map until you see the Crimson Ore.
So, the best way to farm ore is to run new maps and search the area. The ore willnot appear in already-generated maps;it only has a chance to appear in a new map. This means if you return to a map that you’ve already explored, the ore will not appear.
To fully maximize the amount of ore that is being mined,we highly suggest hiring more than one worker. You will be able to hire several, which means that you may mine more ore in a set amount of time.
If you are looking to mine ore, but struggle with other workers smelting it,you may remove workers, which halts smelting. This is important if you need Crimson Ore to upgrade something after you’ve already unlocked the smelting area.
