Summary
While it may not be as combat-focused as a straight action game, you’ll still be doing a good bit of fighting inEverafter Falls. One of your main tasks in the game will be to explore and defeat the bosses lurking in the Rune Dungeons, and you don’t want to just run blindly into each dungeon.
Enemies come in groups frequently, and it’ll only get tougher as you unlock further Rune Dungeons as the seasons pass. If you’re looking to be prepared, or just having some issues, we’ve got some tips for you so you’re able to complete the dungeons, collect more Runes, and progress further.

6Kite To Avoid Damage
When dealing with enemies in the Rune Dungeon, you’ll often go up against groups of them, and they love to gang up on you. If the group’s big enough, your best bet is the classic method of kiting– go in and attack an enemy a few times, then back away before they can hit you, then go in for more attacks.
You can alsocombine your kitingwithusing ore deposits, rocks, pillars, and standing traps to use as barriersbetween you and the enemy while kiting. This’ll give you extra time to hit them, and make them take longer to get to you.

This is going toreduce the amount of damage you takeoverall, and no matter what Rune Dungeon you’re in or your stats, this can be the difference between you dying in a dungeon and needing to pay a fee to the Spooklets, and surviving to leave the dungeon with your Gold intact.
5Invest In Water Bolt And Healing Bond
Besides just helping with farming, yourpet can also aid you in combat, if you obtain one or both of these cards during your game: Water Bolt and Healing Bond.
These cards can be obtained as a reward for certain quests, printing them on Blank Cards at the Print Shop, or by trading in Museum Credits on the yellow-screen computer at the Museum.

With the Water Bolt, your pet will be able to attack enemies with you, at one time your Attack Power, and it bounces once to another enemy, dealing half the initial damage on that bounce. Each level added to it will add one to the attack bonus and the number of times it bounces.
The Healing Bond will allow your pet to heal you at a rate of two HP every six seconds at the base card level, and each additional level will add two HP to the amount it heals you, though the time between heals will stay the same.

Both or even one of these can help you defeat enemies and stay healthy during your dungeon runs, and can come in handy if you’re in a boss fight,as well as keep your potion stocks up.
4Prioritize Attack Speed Bonuses
You’ll always want to keep improving your Attack Power, but overall,Attack Speed is going to be the best when dealing with enemies. Slower, but strong attacks can do well, but with how enemies tend to group up on you, especially in later Rune Dungeons, the higher attack speed will help you more.
The quicker attacks also end up pushing the enemies back quicker, and you’ll be getting in more swings, so your DPS won’t suffer much, or it may surpass what you’re doing with slower attacks, depending on how many swings you’re actually getting in.

Attack Power can beimproved through equipping accessorieswith the Swiftness or Haste suffix, or byattaching an Attack Speed orb to accessorieswith an open Orb Slot on them.
3Bring Health Potions Always
Even if you’reonly bringing one or two Health Potions, it canhelp keep you alive long enoughto survivein the dungeon, especially if your pet doesn’t have Healing Bond or if you lack a Drone with the Healing Pulse function equipped.
Sometimes Health Potions can be a quest reward, but the easiest way to get them is either to buy them from Dawn’s shop for 300 Goldin the southwestern corner of Everafter Falls, or tocraft them yourselfwith an Empty Bottle and three Cactus Flowers.

you’re able to also often get potions as a drop from Treasure Chests in the Rune Dungeons, as well as by beating mini bosses, but it’s rarer for the boss to drop them.
They’re great not just for making your way through the dungeon, but you’ll really want them for boss battles, since they tend to spawn additional enemies to help them, and you can’t teleport out, even if you have a Teleportation Stone down.
2Use Dungeon Traps To Your Advantage
Often, in the Rune Dungeons, you’ll find traps that you have to deal with, and the most common kinds are a spike trap and a laser trap.
TheSpike Trap does around eight damage, but it runs on a pretty slow timer, while boththe wall and statue variations of the laser trap shoot bullets that deal around seven damage at a faster pace.
Sure, they can damage youif you walk or run into their lasers, but thisalso applies to enemiesas well. Enemies will go around or through them to get to you, and can easily end up taking multiple hits of damage from them. This can be enough to whittle them down to a one-hit kill, or take them out entirely.
Since the enemies only track you, it’s possible to position yourself around these traps and let enemies walk into them and take damage while you’re kiting them, or just if you need a moment to get some health.
1Bring A Drone Or Two With You
Like your pet, the Drone is ahandy companionthatcan bebought at Cid’s shop for 2,500 Goldonce at least one season has passed in game, and you canchoose between three different functionsfor them: Inventory Slots, Attack Laser, and Healing Aura.
The equippable Drones can be upgraded with Drone parts like the Water and Harvesting Dones, which increases their function’s effectiveness and allows for multiple functions at once.
At first, only one Drone can be equipped until you get the Drone Plus card, but their functions can help you navigate dungeons greatly, and can be adjusted on the fly, depending on what you need. Need extra damage until you get more stat boosts or better equipment?Go with the Attack Drone.
Can’t make Healing Potions yet and buying them eats into your Gold?Go for Healing. Or, if you’re eager to grab all the lootyou can,go for the Inventory Slots.
