What Is Energy?

In Zenless Zone Zero,Energy is how characters can perform EX Special Attacks, which are enhanced versions of their regular Special Attacks. Energy is, essentially,a numerical tool used to determine the speed with which EX Special Attacks can be performed, and how draining performing one is.

Each character has adifferent EX Special Attack, and the amount of Energy they accrue and spendvaries depending on their abilities.

How To Earn Energy

During combat, characters will earn Energy byperforming Basic Attacks, Dodge Counters, andother combat maneuvers. Characters alsopassively earn Energy during battle, though at a slower rate. Characters can alsoequip certain itemsorundergo certain upgradesto increase the rate at which they earn Energy.

Each Agent has anEnergy Regen score, which determines the rate at which characters passively earn Energy. Certain items canincrease a character’s Energy Regen score, making it so they earn Energy faster. This is especially good forSupport characterssince theyperform fewer combat maneuvers, and thus typically earn less Energy.

How To Spend Energy

You spend your Energy byhaving your characters perform EX Special Attacks. This is different than normalSpecial Attacks, which do not expend Energy.

EX Special Attacks haveunique effects that vary depending on the character. Because of this, there are some EX Special Attacks that haveoptions to reduce the amount of Energy spent while using them.
