With the fast-paced and combo-centric combat system ofZenless Zone Zero, it can be hard to keep track of everything flashing on your screen all at once. From Dodges to Assists, Special Attacks to Chain Attacks, the sheer number of combat mechanics can seem overwhelming - but then again, the vastness of the combat system is part of its glory.
At the forefront of it all, though, are Ultimate Attacks - powerful, cinematic attacks unleashed when your characters have worked hard in battle and earned their moment in the spotlight. But how do you trigger Ultimate Attacks, and more importantly, how do you earn enough points to see one of these legendary moves in action?
What Are Decibels?
Decibels are thenumerical systemwith whichUltimate Attack charge is calculated. Essentially, whenever you enter combat, yourDecibel rating will be displayedat thetop-left of the screen, and it will update to show youhow many Decibelsyou haveearned.

How To Earn Decibels
Decibels can be earned bycompleting combat actions while in combat. These combat actions include:
While you are earning Decibels, the Decibel rating will display what action you are taking that is increasing your Decibel rating.
What Are The Stages Of Gaining Decibels?
The three stages of gaining Decibels areUproar, Blasting and Maximum, each one denoting thepercentage of progresstowards being able to Ultimate Attack.
Uproaris active once you haveearned 1,000 Decibels, meaning you are one-third of the way towards your Ultimate.Blastingis active once you haveearned 2,000 Decibels, meaning you are two-thirds of the way towards your Ultimate.
Finally,Maximummeans you haveearned 3,000 Decibelsand canuse your Ultimate attack.
You cannot ever earn more than 3,000 Decibels, so don’t take too long to spend them once you’ve earned them!
How To Spend Decibels
Decibels canonly be spent when you have 3,000 of them. You canspend 3,000 Decibelsto activate a character’s Ultimate Attack. The Decibels are apool of points for Ultimate Attacks, soonly one character can use their Ultimate per 3,000 Decibels. Choose your Ultimate attacker carefully!
While Decibels are tied to the group, Energy is tied to each individual character.
