Wearing the full set also grantsadditional focusandreduces spell cooldownson aPerfect Dodge, something that can be easily pulled off against Red Loong’s attacks.

CraftingShock-Quelling Powderis also essential for this boss battle. This consumablecures Shockandtemporarily increases resistanceto it. You’ll learn to craft it by completing theXu Dog deity’s requestafter defeatingLang-Li-Guhh-Bawin Sandgate Village.

After defeating the Stone Vanguard, you’ll also gain entry into theCrouching Tiger Temple, whereXu Dogwill allow you tocraft Wujin Pills, which permanently boosts Shock resistance, in exchange forMind Cores.

Red Loong should also be your excuse to finallyreset your Sparksand look intoBane Mitigation under Survival in the Foundation skill treeif you haven’t done so yet. This talent reduces the lasting effect of the Four Banes, including Shock.

Finally, before heading into battle, equip yourself with yourstrongest gearfor this fight, including your most powerful staff, like theWind Bear Staff, and the best Spells and Spirit.

We particularly recommend theWandering Wight Spirit, whichsignificantly bolsters your defense, andA Pluck of Many spell. Both tools have a greater chance of toppling this formidable foe, leaving him wide open for your relentless onslaught.

Red Loong Boss Easy Strategy

Afew things make Red Loong frustratingto deal with. Chief among them, of course, are itshigh durabilityand powerful lightning attacks, but what makes it even worse are thecensers on its back.

The lighting in the boss arena is already bad, and thecensers on its back add to the frustrationby releasingblack smokethat can sometimeshinder your vision.

However,Red Loong isn’t as tough as he seemsonce you realize you can easily bring him to his knees. Staying aggressive and consistently landinghard-hitting attackswill cause the boss tofall onto its side, exposing the censers on its back, its weak point, open to your flurry of attacks.

The bossremains in this staggered state for over ten seconds, and when the censers take anentire combo or two, Red Loong sustains amassive burst of damage.

At the start of the fight, Red Loong will eitherlead with a leaping strike or a tail swipe, depending on your distance. Avoid its opener, then immediatelysummon your clonesusing the A Pluck of Many spell, followed byImmobilize.

Your clones willoverwhelm the boss, giving you an early edge andpotentially staggering it, allowing you to exploit its weakness.

It takesno more than three staggersto slay this beast completely. So keep the aggression going and rely on every tool at your disposal, includingcharged heaviesfrom yourStancesand theRed Tidetransformation.
