With so many dungeons to explore,Dungeons of Hinterberghas many challenges and obstacles to overcome. While most dungeons focus on the puzzle aspect, there are a handful of boss dungeons that prioritize combat and strategy to emerge victorious. These dungeons aren’t immediately available, but as you prove to be a capable slayer, they will unlock.
One such boss dungeon is the Basilik’s Roost, where you’ll face off against a fearsome flying monster. This beast pulls out all the stops and will keep you on your toes. We’ll help you handle the monster and become the best slayer in Hinterberg!
How To Unlock The Basilik’s Roost Dungeon
The Basilisk’s Roost is a difficult dungeon to complete, and it can’t be unlocked until you’vecompleted three other dungeons in Kolmstein. Below are the other dungeons in the region:
Once you unlock the dungeon, make your way to the chair lifts andhead through the cave past the Snowy Summit dungeon. Take the bridge across the chasm andscale the mountain to reach the peakand face the Basilisk.
Basilisk Boss Strategy
The Basilisk is a challenging foe, as you’llfight them in three roundsboth up close and on the hoverboard rails. This monster will alsothrow obstacles at youand do everything it can to crush you.
Below are the three different stages with the best tips for getting through the rough ride and fighting the massive beast.
The First Flight
The moment you hop on the rails, the Basilisk will appear. It will follow you along the hoverboard rails and attempt to stop you in your tracks. When themonster opens its mouth, get ready to use your ray beam.
Squash the eyeswith your magic as they appear. The Basilisk will continue tospawn more of themas you advance, so try to keep up and strike them as they appear.
Thankfully, your magic is unlimited while riding the hoverboard rails in this dungeon!
Once you hop off the rail, you’ll get up close and personal with the beast.Fire at its glowing yellow eyeswith your ray beam to bring it down quickly andunleash your most powerful Attack Conduitsto deal devastating damage.
After you’ve gotten a good chunk of its health down,the Basilisk will take off. Get back on the hoverboard rail to continue.
Flying The Coop
The second wave is where the Basilisk gets serious. Recognizing you as a proper threat, the monster nowobstructs your path with the goo-covered snowflakesas well as throwing eyes at you.
There will also be targets thatrequire a steady chargeof magic to destroy before they explode.
You’ll need tobalance using your ray beam to destroy bothwithout taking too much damage. You need only hold out until the rail ends, at which point you engage in melee combat again. The Basilisk will take off whenonly a third of its healthremains. Chase after it!
The Final Roost
This is the final stretch, and the Basilisk isn’t taking chances anymore. Now, it willthrow massive eggsin your path. You’ll need tocut through them like the icicleslittering Kolmstein to get past.
During this stage, it’sbest to keep your ray beam activethe entire time.
Fire at the eyes, the goo-covered snowflakes, the explosive triangles, and the eggs while youcatch up to the monster. It can be overwhelming at times, but stay focused andkeep a steady hand to remove all obstacles.
Once you reach the roost, don’t relent! You only need towhittle down the last section of the Basilisk’s healthto defeat the dungeon and obtain your prize. After the monster finally falls, head up the ramp behind it toclaim your rewards and collect your stamp.
