By the time you arrive in the Scadu Altus, you will have an idea of how the gaols work inElden Ring’s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. Often hidden away, they surely ain’t the prettiest places to be in, and whichever gaol you find yourself in, you will definitely have your work cut out for you.
Tucked away in a hidden part of the Scadu Altus, the Bonny Gaol is as much of a tough a nut to crack. However, much like the other gaols, the Bonny Gaol is nonetheless a worthwhile dungeon delve, as there’s some incredibly neat loot and amazing rewards waiting to be collected at the tail end of it.

How To Find The Bonny Gaol
Finding the Bonny Gaol in the Shadow of the Erdtree can feel a bit tricky. It issituated past a bridge south of the Bonny Village, with its entrance marked by many iron fences and cages, and guarded by some Spider Scorpions.
How To Reach The Bonny Village Hidden Area
The only hurdle, however, lies in finding the Bonny Village itself, but once you reach it, you will be able toaccess a whole new region in the northeastern portion of the massive map.
While a bit deceiving, theMoorth Ruinslocated east of the Highroad Cross Site of Grace is a key location that you will eventually have to navigate, as it is theonly gateway to the Bonny Villageandessentially the entire northeastern region.

If you weren’t aware, there’s awhole underground area beneath the ruinswhich you can explore through an opening to the northeast. At the end of it, you will be able toclimb a lengthy ladder that will take you straight to the Bonny Village.
How To Complete The Bonny Gaol
Once inside the Bonny Gaol, and after activating its Site of Grace, proceed to make your way down the corridor to reach the dungeon’s main chamber.
While a fleshy jar warrior will slowly emerge from a hole in the wall as you head down the slope, you’re able to deal with it later. Instead, take a sharp turn to the right to enter a room, where you can kill a shadow undead and a jar monster toget eight pieces ofFrozen Maggotfrom a corpse.

Then, returning to the previous area, you candeal with the grotesque creaturethat you saw earlier, and don’t bother entering the room it came from as there’s nothing interesting inside.
Now, before you can proceed to the third room in front of you, look over to your left into the hollow pit, and you willfind two large jar pots hanging by some chains, one of whichoperates as a makeshift lift.Carefully drop down to them one at a timeand thenhop off to the platform below.

While on this platform, thefirst prison room is not worth exploring, only to find a useless Frozen Maggot on the ground and to be ambushed by a pesky shadow undead, but inside the second room toward the east, you canloot a corpse that will give aHefty Cracked Pot.
Approach the second room with caution as afleshy jar warrior will immediately pounceon you near the doorway. If it catches you,it will throw you off your feet, and you will likelyfall to your deathinto the bottomless pit.

Watch out for another onethat will try tosneak up on you from the right as you try to grab the Hefty Cracked Pot inside the room.
After grabbing the loot, return near to the first doorway, and you will find themechanism that operates the lift.Step on it, and the pot lift will descend. Then hop onto it to be taken to the previous upper platform, and at this point, you cango through the third door at the far endto reach the next area.

When you enter this area, you willspot some loot on a corpse sitting on a chair. However, that’s a death trap, consisting of a swarm of shadow undead that will gank up on you from the right as soon as you reach for the loot.
If you consider ten pieces ofBoltto be even worth the trouble at all, then lure the enemies out of their hiding spot and deal with them first. When you’ve eliminated the threats, you can safely grab the loot.

Upon clearing this area, you’re able to head through a locked gate to the southwest toreach a room with a wooden shaft. So,drop down from the Wooden Shaftto descend even further into the Bonny Gaol.
You will thenfind yourself in a cave, where thepath converges into two, making it confusing where to go first. Make sure to grab aBroken Runefrom a corpse in front of you before deciding which path to take first.

Take the path behind you first as it circles back to the shaft. As you continue along this path, and afterfighting some troublesome ratsin a large cavern, you can veer right into asmall alcove that has four pieces ofSmithing Stone [2].
Near the wall to the left, you’llfind a bunch of messages from other players to roll into it. Doing socauses the game to glitchfor a few seconds, so don’t fall victim to their tomfoolery like we did. Though we’re not sure why this happens, it does feel like a hidden wall. Either way, it’s definitely getting patched up in the future.

After that, you cancontinue east toward a ladderthat will take you up a room that has theStalwart Horn Charm +2, butbe mindful of a fleshy jar warrior that will pop out of a potthe second you emerge inside the room.
Now, you caneither head back the way you came fromorgo through the gap to return to the main chamber of the Bonny Gaol, allowing you todrop down the wooden shaft once more. While you can decide this for yourself, we’ve found thelatter route to be a lot shorterand slightly livelier than backtracking through the dank cave.

Once you’ve returned to the area where you jumped down to the cave, you can nowcontinue onward in the other direction. Some slime will fall from the ceiling along the way, but most importantly, thepath here splits further into two.
The one up ahead leads to a dead end containing a Broken Rune, so it’s nothing important, but to press forward you will want towork your way through the corridor on your left.
You will then come along a slope.Heading up the slope will lead you to acorpse holding anInvigorating Cured Meatwhilegoing down leads to the next major area of the Bonny Gaol.
This area is filled with Living Jars, both the big ones and the cute ones, and you will be able to find a Broken Rune and aLost Ashes of Warfrom two separate corpses.
Once you’ve cleared this area, work your way to the next chamberthrough the gap. You will have to deal with three fleshy creatures as you try to loot this chamber for someInnard MeatandRaw Meat Dumpling.
Fortunately, the boss room is nearly there, and it’s only a short trip away. However, there’s an exciting armor set and shieldthatyou can easily miss on account of them being so well-hidden. We will help you find them both before we take you to the boss room, as they are a bit tricky to get to.
Follow the main path north, and you willreach the lowest section of the main chamber.Head down the stairs, grab aSilver Horn Tenderfrom a prison cell on the left, andhead into the room up aheadwhile being wary of a shadow undead that will ambush you.
In this room, you canopen a door to reach another room, which you can then exit tofind another jar lift.Jump onto the lift to be taken to the bridge below. Butdon’t hop off yet.Let it rise once more, and if you’re still on it, it willtake you to a platformhigher up than the one you just jumped from.
On this platform, the complete Night Armor Set can be collected from a corpseresting on a torturing device, whereby a pair of shadow undead will be kneeling in front of it.Up the stairs and past a doorway blocked by a fleshy jar warrior, you will find theShield of Nighton a corpse by a ledge.
Once you’ve collected the gear, return to the bridge using the same pot lift, and after dealing with some more of the same enemy, you willmake out the boss fog wallto your left in the distance.Follow the only path available, while looking out for some enemies that will try to sneak up on you, and you will be next to the boss room in no time.
How To Defeat Curseblade Labirith
Curseblade Labirith is more of thesame Curseblade enemiesthat you’ve fought before, and as the first enemy type you encounter upon arriving in the Shadow Realm, you will realize thathastiness is not the answer to defeating this boss.
It has asimilar attack pattern as the other Curseblade enemies, which includes:
Right after the boss fight initiates, the boss throws out a smoke bombcausing it to vanishand shrouding the boss room in a black fog that effectivelyreduces your field of vision.
You will know it is about toreappear when you hear a swoosh sound, and when it does, it will attempt to strike you.Evade it with a roll just as you hear it make the sound.
Beyond that, the boss fight becomes incredibly easy asyou only need to dodge roll its slashing combosand get a few opportune hits in every time you feel it’s right to do so.
Eventually, you will be able to beat Curseblade Labirith with patience, andupon defeating it, you will get theCurseblade MeeraSpirit Ash along with some Runes.
